I remember seeing this movie in the theater. Only five people at the showing entirely and none of us having any real idea what was going to happen... and then the opening song hit and all of us were just laughing so hard none of us could breathe. XD
(One of the absolute best social satires ever. Don't blame your kids! Blame CANADA.)

I saw it in Philly in 99 opening day, went with 
marmelmm since it was close to his home. Theater was packed!!
And at Uncle Fucker Song, we all (the theater) utterly lost it laughing so hard, except 3-4 people who sat in front of us and just couldn't understand what was going on and thought the song unfunny. Even kept yelling outloud "Stop laughing, we can't hear it!"
To this day many of us love to chime at cons "C'Mon Satan, Your ass is huge and red, who else would I think you'd be? Lisa Minnelli?" and "Who's my love Muffin?"
Yeah, Northern Exposure totally rocks, pity season six was really lame, I own the series on DVD. Even visited Rosyln Washington in 2000 and walked the streets. Utterly loved that trip. Pity I lost all my photos in a hard drive crash.
