This day started like any other.
The sky was a modest blue with a few soft clouds in sight and a slight cool breeze.
In the lush green forest, stood a creature who you would think would blend in too well if not for her blue hair accessory.
Little Emerald was wandering through the forest, looking for something to do in the mist of nature itself.
As she took her next step, Emerald saw a faint glint in the corner of her eye.
She turned around and walked to the source of the distraction, and it wasn't hard to see what it was either.
It was a vein of pure emeralds.
Big, pointy crystals that poked out of the grayish rocks, dotted with several kinds of butterflies on the tips of them.
Emerald was a natural fanatic about gems of all kinds, so to see a sight like this was, needless to say, quite amazing.
What was even better however, was that there was several smaller, chipped emeralds on the ground.
They all glistened in the sunlight and were just as dazzling as the large gems themselves.
Emerald beared a grin that reached both cheeks and was jumping for joy.
She couldn't help herself.
She needed one.
Emerald spread around the pile of gems around and wasted no time in picking out the biggest one there, or rather, the most polished one.
Oddly, it was quite oval in shape compard to the chipped ones, and to speak of it's many inner formations inside the gem was unnessecary.
It spoke for itself, shining with a dim green hue in the centre.
Emerald was quite content with her lucky find.
"Oh my gosh, this emerald is amazing~" She quietly cooed to herself.
This was a find that she would brag about for a while.
And to think that the entire ore vein was above ground made it just that much more fasinating.
She took the stone and went on her way.
HSSSsss...
"Hm?" Emerald hummed, being interrupted mid-tune, noticing a peculiar feeling in the pit of her gut.
She shrugged and kept going, still gazing at her dazzling jewel.
HSSSss...
There it was again.
The feeling started to feel like it was building up.
Was it something Emerald had for breakfast?
Well, whatever it was, the cereal clearly wasn't agreeing with her.
Suddenly, Emerald felt her then furred belly being tickled by something, as well as feeling quite sluggish in the way she walked.
Not able to ignore it any longer, she peered down to look at her underside.
"What the--" She screamed, being greeted to a large abdomen, one that was happily being dragged against the soft grass earlier and now were quickly pushing her hind legs apart.
"Wh-What's going on?!" She yelled again, "Why am I getting... bigger?"
Her belly began to sink into the lush grass and act as a soft pillow, except the pillow was getting larger, and was picking Emerald up.
"Oh no... This isn't good." The green feral creature concluded.
Her body continued to hiss and stretch, becoming more rounded and more larger with every passing second as she was quickly rose into the air, with no legs to bother with.
Her legs becoming more rounded and her paws slowly sinked into her body, feeling more like she was walking on air than anything.
Yet despite all of this, Emerald was gripping her gem firmly with her puffy looking left paw, resistant to let go.
Panicking, Emerald looked more like a shiny, emerald balloon with little paws and a tail which was free from her spherical fate with every passing second.
She felt very light and stretched, like... a balloon?
And then Emerald started to forget her current predicament and wonder about why this was happening.
It all started as soon as... the gem!
Emerald fought the urge to hang on to her precious and threw the gem onto the ground before her paws became sank into her bloated form, the dim light inside slowing growing dim.
And then, it all started slowed down.
Emerald sighed in relief as the inner pressure began to die down.
She couldn't see it herself, but in the middle of the forest, laid a near spherical princess.
Alone with her green gemstone.
Hopefully, she'll deflate and finally get home, or maybe someone will find her like this.
