hypr Thank you for taking the picture!
New additions for the costume are the goggles, new shorts that fit better, I turned the stoppers on the Gertie balls inward so they wouldn't look like nipples. Kamber installed a collar inside the boobsock to hold the neck area straight to keep the granny folds out of the spandex.
More things needing fixes: redoing the lighter pink belly patch. It absorbs the pigment of the darker pink spandex layer whenever I sweat which takes a long time to scrub out with plain water. I need a better solution.
And I need to block out my mouth from showing when the Roxi mouth is open.
I'm tempted to rebuild the Roxi head myself from scratch. I'm really tired of it.

The boob area is a stitched spandex piece with inflatable Gertie balls in them (toy balls meant to be inflated and deflated). For a few years I would have the balls so that the stoppers would be facing out to look like nipples, but they just looked ridiculous with this setup, so the stoppers are on the inside. The rest of the bodysuit is one piece. I cover the seam between the parts with the jingle bell collar.
If you just wanted to know if I'd painted nipples on there, nah. The suit kind of falls apart if I take any of the clothes off. It would take a lot of engineering to make it have 'nude' form. And then I don't really want to play around with a fakey naked fursuit. I wouldn't get anything out of it.

There's a chance I might be going to MegaPlex before that. My boss offered to pay for the con of my choice to compensate that weekend endurance trial of going from Warren (Detroit area) to Florence (Jackson, MS area) and back to pick up her camper, which I had to pull all the way back. I would've said AC, but that's over 4th of July weekend when I can makes lots of money.
I remember the pics of the MK I Roxi, and it did look rather 'Mardi Gras mask' back then.
However, some black face paint around the lower jaw would go a long way towards hiding the human features in the shadows you would 'expect' inside a mouth.
I'll have to remember that in case my mouth is too visible with my MK IIa head. (Unlikely, as I'm borderline short (5'5") and the upper beak covers quite a lot.)

It helps to have a special walk, or try to be exaggeratedly animated while suiting, so the suit doesn't look dead. If you stand still in suit, the fursuit just looks like a craft project and slightly creepy. Some suiters walk around really meekly and it makes their suits look dead.
If you ever get a suit, just move around a lot and takes water breaks often. :)

Woot! Yeah, they're smaller there because I had to use my spares. Because I hadn't blown up the spares before, the surface tension was a lot greater and they couldn't stretch as much as the old ones. I forgot to bring my old ones, but I really don't mind Roxi's chest being smaller. I just try to at least get them the same size.
I'm definitely a fan of larger bosoms but I suppose not being lopsided is more important.
The goggles are a cool addition by the way. I'm not sure why but they feel like they should have been there before instead of something new and different. It's like they belonged all along or something..

Congratulations RoxiKat! Does this mean you're not part of this trope?

I absolutely love the goggles on the head/hat kind of thing. The problem is that I wear glasses all the time, so I get a dumb four-eyes look. I was going to have the goggles around Roxi's neck, but she has a jingle bell collar there. I was really lucky that the band stretched enough so that the goggles could be worn on the hair chunks like that.
Thanks for the link! I loved reading all the examples. It's always been a superhero or a 1920s chauffeur kind of thing for me.

This is just a thought, and I don't know the first thing about Fursuits and mask making, but could you possibly use a black nylon or plastic strip that you could paint the inside of the mouth on, then hot glue it to the mouth of the mask so when it opened it would look like a more toon style mouth?
I can't quite explain it well in a short post like this, but it would be an effective way to make your mouth dissapear, but it would obstruct eating and drinking in the suit if you did it..

i'm tempted to design one using my mad tech skills but the parts i need are spensive my hope is to design basically a second skin ,my first model would have a mini battery that fit in a side accessory liek a back pack or such, whic woudl work to power parts liek the face tail maybe voice modules and maybe a new type of cooling system for both fursuiters and mascots alike....only thing is materials for making even a prototype at this time woudl be steap...moneywise but if i manage to scrounge a working suit desgin want to be a beta tester roxi?
yeah i'd be honored to help you make the perfect roxi suit but i'm kinda new to it as i never thought too much inot it most my tech trianing was for FX or prop or prosthetic design , wonder how many servos it would take to make a realistic wagging tail.....I have a battery design that woudl last up to 6 -15 hours and woudl fit in the palm of yor hand , and the concept for a cooling unit woudl be basically a semi liquid non toxic coolant variety , that and well placed hidden vent spots if i can find my newer designs i'll try to find a way to send them or post them on fa for all to see it al basicaly started when my shcool asked me to make a better mascot outfit (tech vo-tech project) but it never fnished cuzz we ran out of funds ( and my tech teacher got fired)
I've gotten many promises over the years. It's easier for me to agree to something if there's something to back it up. If you had any photos or information of what you experimented on for that mascot suit. I'm pretty much already working on this on my own. Too many years of too many false promises.
Wow! Cute suit, Roxi!
I gotta ask you,
What's the hair out of, because I can't imagine my character's hair being done with real hair and this looks really ideal! I mean, what's the entire thing made of? does it seem really insanely sweaty?
Is the head and hair a solid piece like a helmet? Do they seperate?
And who MADE IT! :D Golly gee it just looks really great <3
