For a while now, I've been wanting to revamp some of my characters; I tend to be a very restless and indecisive person when it comes to such things, so whereas some of my OCs are in a state that more or less satisfies me, still others are not. Just to be clear, it's *not* the fault of a particular artist here. Artists can only work with what they've been given, and in the case of these specific characters, I think they did a fantastic job conveying what I had in mind... at the time. But I can get pretty obsessive about altering the details of---or even outright changing---characters of mine.
Take Lux, my original persona who has over time become more of a mascot for this account. He started out as a female but rather androgynous looking, grey anthro shark. Then he became more overtly feminine (not to mention a lot more colorful). And then the unspeakable happened, and he finally became the dude he had been all along. Of course, by this point he stopped being a shark altogether: going from a froggy victim of love to a draconic victim of circumstance.
Now here's Roxanne, one of my oldest characters (along with her soon-to-be revamped cohort Priscilla). Since she predates this whole furry nonsense for me, she was originally some kind of hooman; by the time I decided to make a version of her "with zoo parts," her personality and quirks had pretty much been established, so it was a matter of finding a good fit. I thought monitor lizard seemed reasonable at the time. Really, it still is. Wholeheartedly so.
Yet now she's a pig. Why a pig? 'Cuz anthro pigs are awesome for one thing, and I feel they're kinda underrated in the furry community, at least outside of the whole "TF scene."
Also IDK. It just feels right? I'm not as into anthro lizards as I once was admittedly, dragons and certain awkward basilisks aside.

So who's Roxanne anyway?
Well for one thing she's a schemer. Much of her early life was spent on the run from folks she'd ripped off at one time or another. She also spent some time as a traveling performer, and it was at this point that she met her lifelong friend and sidekick extraordinaire, Priscilla. The two of them continued to perform together as part of a theater company, traveling the country side and reenacting various melodramas and legends of yore. Usually with some diversionary tactics and crowd pickpocketing thrown in toward the end of the show for good measure.
Roxanne became utterly obsessed with one of her roles at some point: that of a brave knight who had reformed from her shiesty past to go on and become a hero to her people. She craved the fame. She wanted to show off, to make lofty speeches and smite others with big, powerful weapons and become renowned the world over. She wanted a statue of her in the town squar looking proud and knightly.
It wasn't long before the teenaged pig quit performing on stage and---swindling some money---got a suit of armor, declaring a reluctant Priscilla to be her squire. That was some ten years ago.
Now she's actually a knight, though the fame and glory she sought back then still manages to elude her even to this day. But hey, it turns out she's actually kinda knightly after all. She even fought in several battles, all the while her unfortunate companion Priscilla struggled to keep up with her lady. Roxanne is loud, blustery, boastful, proud, quick to anger, and kind of an idiot. All-in-all though, I think she's a lovable sort of blockhead.
You gotta feel sorry for her lanky companion, barely able to keep up however. The permanent bags under Priscilla's eyes are a testament to her lady's lifestyle.

PS. I will most likely be going with the hairstyle on the right.
