Commission of Terrie the were-reindeer. The request was a picture of Terrie admiring herself in a handheld mirror, a cozy indoor setting that included an undecorated Christmas tree and wrapped boxes, as well as an opened box with a tag that reads, “For Terrie, Merry Christmas in July!”
Perspective pieces are a challenge, I spent so much time on that background! It also made me nostalgic for Christmas, Christmas songs kept popping into my head!

Wow, absolutely fantastic! Your attention to detail is simply amazing. There are about a million more compliments I could pay to this, too. I love your unity of design between the chair and the hand-mirror.
Out of curiosity, do you consider that a "minimal background," or something more? It's more than minimal in my book! I'd love to commission you in the not-too-distant future!

This is definitely what I would consider a “complicated” background. Minimal background is like some whispy clouds and maybe some trees made with tree brushes. Fully drawn and executed background like this take a lot longer of course, they often take longer than the character itself. I am open for commissions, feel free to note me and I can give you a better estimate.
