Yeah tell me about it... When I started on the suit I was really scared that I was going to end up doing the same thing. Really, I just tried to take my time and make sure things where perfect to the best of my abilities. I'm really happy with the results, though there is much learning to still be done. ^^

I'm working on remaking my fursuit head to give her more of the personality that she has in my drawings but it's so hard to adjust foam to fit an art style on paper. X3 You did a great job with it though ^^

Hehe, I saw you found the other post about the moving jaw. Yeah as I said it took a bit of adjustment to get right, but once I did it worked like a charm. ^^ I'm glad you like the head, thank you ^^

HOW DO YOU DO IT?

Exactly HOW do you make a correct moving jaw? :/

For the moving jaw I used a slightly modified version of the the Matricies tutorial. You can find that at this link below. It's works by sewing elastic straps into the balaclava at key positions so that the jaw of the suit fits up snugly against your face. It took me a while to adjust it right, but eventually it worked.

My first head was plastic mesh, but after using a balaclava I don't think I will ever go back.

You can find balaclavas at most large sporting stores, I found mine at a REI, which I'm not sure if they have them out here. If nothing else I'm sure you can find them online for quite cheap.

As far as the LA fashion district, I'm not sure if you can get stuff from there remotely. I got it since I was out there at the time, and since then I've just been using the fur that I've had. I don't see why not to look into it, though it may be less headache just to find a large cooperate fur dealer if your getting stuff online. When I do look into fur supplies for myself I'll sure to message you with what I find.

Hmm. is selling balaclavas, but they are for use UNDER the head. I asked him how much one would cost with holes cut for a balaclava based head. :/

I see. I tried looking for good furs online, and I found a style I liked. PUNKY MUPPET off of CScrafts in orange, black, white, and blue. THEY WERE AMAZING. I had ordered a free swatch, and they told me how much a yard would cost of the Punky Muppet fur... $24.95 a yard.... :C
My good friend said he might take me fur shopping sometime this weekend if we arent finishing up my husky suit. The WIP head is in my Scrap gallery.

Actually, I had a friend that made her own balaclava for her head and it worked out fine. She just got some stretchy fabric and sewed it to the correct shape. So that is another option for you.

Ouch... $24 a yard is expensive >.< Even when I was out in LA I think I payed about $16 a yard for what I got. Well when you go out shopping tell me if you find anything interesting, I'm going to need to do the same myself at some point soon.

The ears are constructed from sheets of plastic, molded into the desired shape. Then I just place the fur around that. They are quite stiff but won't break if knocked.

The actual eyes are set back from the front of the face, so the edges of the eyes will give off the effect that they follow you around ^^
