I asked on twitter, better to ask here. there seems to be no rate for half a character. or a character seated at a table. Why would I want that? I do not recall seeing anyone do a diabetic character doing their blood sugar. getting a reading. then it occurred to me that if you cannot see it, be it. The Character, mine or yours, matters little, bringing the travails a Diabetic goes through matters much.

As an artist, there's a flipside to that, where, yes, the lower portion of the character isn't visible, but the space it would be is taken up with stuff that still requires perspective, shading, and detail work on the table, and the specific medical devices, lancets, digital meter readout big enough for the viewer to understand what it is, etc.

Only point being, the artist's still gotta do a lot of work to get all that in there and right, i'd just consider that a full body picture, and you'd do best with a few photographic references of required equipment to make sure the stuff on the table tells the story you want it to.

Half-character would be pretty much the same as head/badge. :)
