Oh, right, I get it! People die! Haha! You know, I think many of the bereaved family members would have been happier if their kids and mates and parents contracted your version of the sickness, but alas, the TF virus still isn't out there.
I'm neither overly interested nor scared of the flu, but one should have enough sense of tact not to use that term in vain so soon. I wouldn't care if you made a picture like that about the asian flu, although it presumably has the same graveness. Eh, it's long past gone.
And it's not about the picture itself, either. Only about your commentary. Because you are not looking at the flu at a humorous angle or saying that people would have been better off like that instead of being infected with the real thing - you are just making fun of it.
So if I need to get a sense of humour, then you need to get a sense of sensibility.

Boy/Girl/Buddy/Guy/Chief(Also mistaken for Chef on paper):
Yes, you do need a sense of humor.
I draw comics and pron for a living and you're going to seriously step in and say I'm out of line?
What's funniest of all, is getting silly serious comments like this. This isn't a political or societal commentary! I draw to make people smile, laugh, or make a mess of their pants!
I'm not going to explain myself to you, but I hope this further enrages you about my disregard for human life (obviously, right?)
"Flu season's back again. Every year, apparently a guy gets on a boat in Formosa forgets to wipe himself and WE get the FLU! He gets off the boat and he's like 'How ya doing! How ya doing! How ya doing!'
Whatever you do, don't get a flu shot! Every year it's scarier and scarier. Last year my doctor scared me into one, he said: 'You know what people are doing, they're shitting out their mouths!' I don't like to brush that much, 'Gimme a shot!'.
It's the worst thing you can do. A flu shot gives you a cold for 365 days. Everyday you wake up, you've got a cold. But you never have the flu, because you've got a COLD!"

Seriously, You're just upset you didn't think of it first.
You bring the internet great LULZ. Congrats.
Srsly?

Sorry if you get the impression that I am trying to flame you, which is not my intention. I was just stating that you failed to make me smile/giggle/laugh. Drawings alone don't evoke emotions, but the ideas behind them do, this is why I told you I was never offended by the drawing nor by the title, only by your commentary.
Also I like how you respond to my comment. You didn't need to if you think the comments are only there so that people tell you how much they lawled at your drawings or how many Os they put in their "HOT!"s. You tell me that you think I'm oversensitive without insulting me, that's coo'.
I completely agree with you that those health scares are bogus. Sicknesses come and go and unless HIV mutates into something capable of being spread by breath infection, I'm really not going to get into paranoya.
Well, but then there's the part where I disagree with you handling this recent subject kind of carelessly. I'm not going to just ignore my feelings about this, because the internet is supposed to be an "anything goes" area. If you want to have that, go to 4chan. Anywhere else you cannot ban any form of non-aggressive reception, ESPECIALLY not in the furry fandom, which supposedly is more about tolerance than most other communities. So I'll just speak my mind and I will continue until either I convince you, you convince me or any of us is fed up and ignores the other - which would be kind of sad.
Anyway, you draw comics and pron for a living. Maybe. Doesn't matter. It's still art and every artist has some kind of moral frontier. You probably wouldn't draw Hitler turning into a werewolf and fucking jews to death in concentration camps. So much for mental imagery. It would be pretty senseless, but it surely wouldn't be bare of ANY commentary. If connect your drawing to an event in reality, you can't strip it naked of any perspective, because what you draw or write IS your perspective. It's something you cannot completely get rid of.
Now, to finish this one (and if you still care and read), here are some examples which I wouldn't have been offended by: A newscaster stirring fear being turned into a pig, people who are afraid of the sickness being turned or actually infected people being better off by this mutation (although I know now that the last one would be against what you think about the health paranoya).
My perception is that any artist doing something about a recent headline cannot escape criticizing or commenting with their piece of art, whether they want it or not, because there are always people with open wounds related to the subject. And that is everywhere, be it in RL or VL.
PS: I apologize in advance if my writing seems pretentious. I usually talk way more slang-ish, but this here always helps me keeping a clear head and being as objective as possible for me.

Go roll around in a forum and tell people how upset you are, because I personally think you're fucking nuts. This was neither the place to put a soapbox, nor a fucking place to vent your opinion.
Your 'blah blah blah' is really taking up too much room in my Haha space.
BTW, you should totally link me on the forum and say I'm the devil. A jew devil too, idiot.

Ah, you either misunderstood me or didn't bother reading what I wrote. I don't think you're the devil and if he exists he can partake in any religion he likes.
I'm not rolling around the forums and I don't need to whore me some attention among people I don't know. In retrospection I should have written you a personal message instead of making public comments and for not doing so I'm sorry. I just thought that, well, writing you a PM would be too personal.
I leave it up to you to decide about my mental state for yourself. There probably isn't any more wrong with me than with anybody else, but I've never been anybody else, so I can't really say.
Anyway, to finish this and preserve some kind of self-irony: http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/duty_calls.png

You do realize that thus far this bug has proven no more deadly than your average seasonal flu, don't you? It's hard for some people to get overly worked up over something that's proving to be overhyped because it did almost all of it's damage immediately and proved to be not a big problem in when looking at the big picture.
If someone tried to trivialize the 1918 flu pandemic, I would a little pissed off too. But all the latest evidence says people have overreacted to this bug. So lighten up.

There's a difference between making fun of the subject matter and the people who died. If you can't see the difference, you definitely shouldn't be commenting on the matter.
Every type of disaster, illness, etc. has people who joke about it without getting any real criticism for the simple fact that they direct their humor at the disaster/disease ITSELF and NOT the people who've died because of it. Don't like it? Too bad. But you know what? You don't have to watch/listen/read any of it.
If it bothers you so much, then GO AWAY.

I do see the difference and in my opinion making fun of the subject matter could have been done in a lot of ways, but this was not one. This is a nurse getting the flu and then changing. Oink oink.
The strangest thing is that people like to tell people, who disagree with them, to go away. It's probably some behavioristic reaction against the usual trolls, so I don't mind that much. But why should I go away? I've been lurking around for years with hardly any commenting. None, actually, if I remember correctly. This was the first image which I felt to comment and disagree on and I will probably return to lurking in a short time when it has been fully established that I am just trolling around, corrupting artwork, spitting out flamebait and ruining everybody's fun. I am the cancer killing Fur Affinity!
But seriously, there are a lot of great artists here, Miranda Leigh being one of the most noteworthy whom I have stumbled upon even a long time before I got here. I am not angry, although I must confess that my entry comment was a bit extreme, and I certainly won't stop looking at her artwork, because I'm sooooooo pissed and she's such a jew-devilish meanie-poo :((

As far as I'm concerned, it's not trivializing the matter(even the title indicates it's not actually the same bug that everyone's panicking about), so it's not a joke worth complaining about. Simple as that.
I don't tell people to go away simply for disagreeing with me. It's a comment that I, and literally everyone I know, reserve for cases when someone appears to be railing against the subject matter but STILL COMING BACK to the place this thing they claim to hate happens to be. And since you seem to have a problem with this picture's "message" but continue to come back, you certainly present that image. I recently posted a series of journals about some green technologies(primarily automotive-related) that environmentalists ignore for some pretty moronic reasons(the whole point was to explore why these are GOOD ideas, contrary to the claims of the enviro-nuts). You'll never see me say "go away" if someone disagrees with me on those journals.

Eh, I like arguing on a civil level - I rarely get the chance to. Also I keep hoping to convince other people of my point of view being valid and, what can I say, I'm some kind of optimist, I don't hold grudges and even if I do not like the message of the picture combined with the commentary, I'll probably learn something from this if I stick around a little longer. Maybe I'll think back in a few days and realize that I was pretty wrong. That is perfectly possible. Or maybe you'll tell me something I haven't noticed about my line of argumenting and I'll have to admit that I made a mistake. Also possible. I'd like to keep an open mind if I can and I thankfully learn about other people's thoughts if they are willing to explain.
But as long as everything's civil (which it has been except for Miranda calling me idiot once, but that's okay) and people keep responding, I don't want to go away. If they lose interest, I'll stop and vanish into the thin air I came from. :3
