Hey guys, it's that sad time of the month where we end it for each blend.
So with a recommendation from Steven I went with this little gem to end the month.
Let's get to it.
Gurkha Cellar Age 15 Year Maduro:
Wrapper: Brazilian Maduro
Binder: Dominican Olor
Filler: Dominican
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the blackness of the box, to the dark appearance of this little bastard, a sudden urge of dread came over
my sight. Beneath the darkness of the band with gold writing and the subtle appearance, there was a welcome draw to it. Dark oily wrapper with a bit of tooth to the feel. For a short 5x58 perfecto, it felt just right from the handle. Veins and seems were almost invisible from the broad toughness of the wrapper. Time to light this bad boy up.
The Burn Part 1:
A great draw, and vibrant smoke flow, the notes of broad oak and cedar, to the faint pepper notes, it was a great outdoor like feel to it. As the stick went down, more and more notes of pepper started to rise up, but to a moderate level. The more outdoor feeling came to be, the more my thoughts of the dark and evil presence idea seem to go away, welcoming me more to this being a usual weekly finisher cigar for the day. So far, so good.
The Burn Part 2:
As we progress down, there was finally a subtle sweet note to accompany the cedar and pepper. A faint cream note to compliment my time in the outdoor world. The cedar pretty much stayed in the same plae=ce while the pepper became a little earthy. Still at this point, this was a still mellow maduro for it's size. Not much has changed at the end.
The Burn Final:
As I was reaching the nub, only a couple of changes have occurred, The cream has evolved a bit richer, like a coffee cream. The cedar started dwindling a bit. Once the spongey bit started to release the heat of the nub, it was time to put it out.
Verdict:
For being a Brazilian Maduro, it was a bit more simple, and subtle. Something that ends a good night at a lounge or your dinner. Have a nice drink with it, b/c it will suit it well. Grab a few of these guys.
