Why do people make fanart where the main char is actually depressed, grimdark or akin to such? I don't get it.

Because the coin have two side and nobody will face happiness all the time...Main character is just a person. They have feeling and weakness too..

I wonder, if this would be true for the series canon, if this would be the reason, that Twilight one day will give up her Alicorn Status and become a normal unicorn again...
And I ask myself, if Lady Celestia had similar feelings often in the Thousand Years of her reign and only the reason, that she has to wait for her Sisters rescue when the Time comes hold her in the line!?!

Pretty sad thought I would mean...

feel bad for her to be honest although I..am curious what a nightmare Twilight would look like. I mean Luna became nightmare moon when she and her night felt unloved... going unloved for Twilight has the chance to do the same in my opinion but I'm sure she'll find somepony to make her happy.
