My own Spyro Character. If you look closely at his outfit, theres some similarities of the outfits from the tribe of Avalar, and the arm cover from the Ordon tribe [Twilight Princess].
The pic on the left is the zoomed in version of his wand. The right side is the armor selection ^^.
The problem im facing is what should i do to this Character? Should i make his appearance after DOTD? Or recreate the Spyro Legend over again, just for fan purposes only? Ill ponder over this later, right now im thinking about the name of this guy ^^;
Background story coming soon

I'd go easy on the armor and just go with the good old adventurer's outfit (mundane item, basically sturdy clothing with lots of pockets suited for adventuring) with Bracers of Armor (force, basically permanent Mage Armor) or a Ring of Protection (deflection, must be made by a divine caster who knows Shield of Faith) and a Cloak of Resistance (boosts saving throws). I think there are a few types of armor arcane casters can wear (bards are an exception, they can wear light armors and still cast effectively), but they aren't in the Player's Handbook. Neep neep neep neep neep. Don't forget about Mage Armor, it's a first-level Wizard and Sorcerer spell that gives you a +4 force bonus to AC and provides protection against incorporeal foes. Neep neep neep.
Sorry about that, I can't suppress my infodumps some days. Um, where was I again? Oh, right, nice art there, Jargon.

Yeah, light armor/basic adventurer's clothing is fine. If you're into Dungeons & Dragons, then he probably has a heavy spellbook and a large spell component pouch hanging off of his belt, plus a scroll case. (Robes are a standby for wizards, but they probably are easy to trip over when using Expeditious Retreat.)
