Well, this was certainly long in coming.
Chess, the lion I had spewed onto the TLKFAA (The Lion King Fan Art Archive) Has now become one of my most beloved children. It's about time he went anthro. And personally, I think he looks pretty damn good this way. The tan is his under-fur, not skin.
And, most likely, he'll stay like this.
I'm thinking about making him a member of a band, who knows.
Chess-baby, meet the world.
World, meet your rockstar.

Wow...a rock star lion. I will have to go ahead and admit. That is...pretty innovative. I like the idea already. [I was actually sold at the Rock star/band member portion of it, but why not a rock star too? Good choice.
First of all...happening to like his coloration there. It's.. different. Much like his name. The black and white pieces of a chess board. [With note of this being the squares on his belt. If folded, and cut into pieces, it would probably make a chess/checker board.]
What I especially love here? His posture and body type. He's not necessarily a feminine boy...but not overly masculine either. Plus he has the obligatory cross around his neck and some sort of accessory [i.e- The tail ring and earring] I suppose that would be what a rock star is. A light colored hair [Which I'd have to call "Sephiroth Silver."] and yet..not looking androgynous..he can just be called "handsome."And I can respect that.
That being said...I can honestly tell you that this picture happened to come out right nicely.
And I say that with all sincerity.

Does he also play chess? I love the game, can't get enough. I lose all the time but still love the game. I think he would be a person I would love to play chess against, if he played that is. If not then...sad day. But maybe his band will rock.
I really like this piece. His expression is by far my favourite portion, don't ask me why but I just can't help but look at his face. And if you knew me, which you don't, you'd know the face is the last place I look on a shirtless man. It's not mean, or agressive, he's not scoffing or anything like that. I wouldn't even go as far as to say it's an apathetic expression. It's simly a very strong face I think. The features are well done, especially at that angle.
I like the pants, tight (either that or he's got terribly thin legs) slightly lower cut. The belt is cute, fits the overall theme well.
The tail is adorable.
Just a very well rounded picture, awesome work random person I've never met.
