Childhood Memories 4: Living with a HUGE family.
So I really DO have a big family. Lots of aunts, uncles, cousins and all that. That's a lot of relatives to remember, which I simply can't.
And it's always the same, on every family reunion there's someone who knows me but whom I don't remember and ask my parents 'who is she/he/they?'. And they always say "look at you, how big you are! How's your girlfriend?"
Hehehe. It's not THAT annoying. I can live with that :P

Hows your girlfriend is one of those questions that plauge you if your gay.
Even after I moved out, getting that "You dating?, got a girlfriend?, when will we get grandchildren?... (my parents are clueless though, so i have to understand).
It finally stopped last year. My younger brother got married, and has a kid. Told my bro he saved me - he thought it was funny too (he knows im gay).

I know exactly what you mean. My extended family always asks if I have a girlfriend, and persists every time I see them. My parents know I'm gay, though, so they helped come up with more than a few ways to divert the conversation until I'm ready to come out to them.
My favorite is, "Naw, I like to keep my money." =P It gets everyone laughing, and if they demand satisfaction, you can just explain it "I've still got (insert number) years of college left to go, I'm just want to focus in on that for now."

yep. they're like 80 years old and, according to Polish customs, love having guests at their homes. And if they have guests, they offer to him/her all the food they have :) I most often refuse, but sometimes I just can't. We Poles are very hospitable, especially the older generation. For my grandmas it's just very polite to offer food to guests. :)
Yup. I haven't told my cousins (because they live in Texas. e_e) but I'm sure my grandmother on my dad's side let them aaaaall know after she visited for Christmas. It's funny, my family is like...the opposite of the entire clan of my dad's family. He doesn't like 'em much, but then again, I can't say I blame him. They're racist, homophobic buttheads.
