Equustrataur Anatomy - Internals
This was a lot of fun to do, as well as a challenge... and i'm quite pleased with it too!
I'm not going to bother explaining the function of the organs pictured now, as this is going to be a part of a larger ref-sheet, and it will be coloured (and the parts numbered) ...so i'll wait until then. But i like this lineart with its subtle textures... and the rib-expansion diagram came out swell!
That particular diagram though will probably be a lot less confusing once it's colour coded... Don't worry about that now, just enjoy the nice geometry :D
I did ref equine anatomy for this, though the refs i had were pretty shoddy... but as you can see, due to the drastic differences between the Equustrataur and a normal horse, most of this involved just making things up, anyway. :P
I had to visualize that rib cage in my head, as i had nothing to go by there, but i think it looks pretty decent.
The costal cartilege connecting the first 8 sets of ribs to the sternum is stretchy ...probably not cartilege at all, really.
Anyway, details will be included when this project is done!

Very interesting look at his anatomy. That heart must really get a work out with such a large body mass hehe, though I noticed you did make it rather large ;D I noticed someone mentioned how he would be short of breath, but ive always had an idea for Taurs that would solve that if they only had the one set of lungs (I don't know if this would fit in you your design though XD).
Why not have they have an extra intake of oxygen via spiracles like some insects and other species do, which is pretty much the intake of oxygen through points of the skin as well as the main lung functions :D

It is a very interesting visualization of taurian anatomy. Ive studied up on veterinary medicine, the physiology and anatomy is near realistically posed for such a body structure. The is a problem with taurian thorax though, the sternum is much too small for the size of the rib cage.
One thing Ive noticed in these internal reference pictures, whether its my own or anyone else whose done it, the anatomy and size of the body changes a lot. The taurian back seems shorter here than it does in previous pictures, and the stomach seems to sag more than before. Perhaps now that you've visualized the internal workings, given flesh and blood to the once hollow character everything will flow as if it were a real species that you could go out to any field and do a life study. :)
All in all, superb work.

This has to be the best fucking thing ever. I love it when people try to put sense into imaginary anatomy and succeed flawlessly! This even gives sense into the hermafroditism or in this case - multi-genderism as it is not only fertile but perfectly functional in all it's sexual organs.
I just wonder if those lungs are enough for this critter.. they seem to be very big, though

Seriously neat, even without color I can tell what pretty much all the 'usual' stuff is. Teeny adorable kidneys! And that abdominal jawset is extremely cleverly done - I admit to wondering how it would work in the past. Very, very neat, and amazing in it's level of detail and accuracy, Oh, and thinking - with the testes in there the way they are, is their a cooling system, or are the gametes just able to survive the higher temperature?
Omg, i was just working on the same thing, herm based off horse anatomy :D I made a critical mistake replacing the bladder with a uterus, but i see you just put it in front! Mind if I play around with that idea? Excellent job btw X3 I will totally fave this once it's done :D
...Haha I knew what costal cartilage was cause I have costal chondritis >>;

Yeah, if i ever come back to this i'm going to try and rethink the lungs... The heart ought to be a bit bigger too, but that's easier to fix. ...Sometimes "These lungs just work more efficiently" sounds more like a cop-out than an explanation :P
Perhaps there's another set of lungs that are thin but broad, occupying the space against the insides of the ribs at the top of the lower abdominal cavity. If snakes can have lungs that are just really long, i don't see why lungs can't be flattened out in this case, right?
If you have any ideas i'm open to them :3
And thanks!

Real suggestions?
Liver and spleen in the upper abdomen, pancreas at the juncture of torsos. The pouch may function as a redundant gastric organ. The duodenum connects to the small gut, which in turn flows to the very large cecum and hind gut for fermentation.
.
If there's six limbs, why not four lungs, two diaphragms or two hearts? there's already two rib cages to give them structure. That would need an extended windpipe to reach the lower lungs.
