The plaque underneath the bust read as follows:

"The only fleet air arm pilot to be first sea lord and chief of naval stagg (1960-1964). President of the Fleet Air Arm Museum by his Wife Mary 1983"

History is such a wonderful thing, now i can appreciate why i sat and listened carefully in history lessons at school
