When I moved to Castle Von Zeppelin to work for  norithics, I had to leave a few things behind, either because I couldn't get them through customs or because it'd be easier on the whole to obtain the local version when I landed.

I went through a checklist that I prepared earlier...

Local SIM Card (My mobile's quad-band, so it still works!)
Local USB Charger
Local Pre-Paid Mastercard or Visa (I get paid in cash and this should extend my spending reach)
Local Personal Flight Charts (For those who can fly unassisted by any vehicle)
New gloves with conductive material (I'm wearing a 'travel set' without conductive material here)
New plug for my laptop (the charger's still good, but I need a new plug to avoid a short-circuit)
