There are a lot of kids at the PCA who are relatives of famous pro battlers, directly and indirectly. Some are proud of their famous relatives, but don't plan to follow in the same path. Others don't like the attention that comes with such family ties and try to avoid it whenever possible.

Then there's "Rowdy" Reutimann, who almost seems destined to head for the big time and is well aware of it. His roots go all the way back to his great-grandfather, a Hitmonlee who became Grand Champion thanks to a devastating Bullet Punch/Blaze Kick combo that very few were able to stand up to. This technique has been passed down from father to son for three generations and is currently being made famous all over again by "Riot" Reutimann, champion and star fighter of the extreme battling league R.A.G.E. Battling. Not surprisngly, Rowdy has been told that he can sign up with them at any time, even if he wants to leave school early to do so.

But even with a legendary fighting technique at his disposal and a guaranteed spot in a pro league waiting for him, Rowdy isn't planning on taking the easy road. His ultimate goal is to capture the R.A.G.E. championship for himself, which means there's a pretty good chance that he'll have to fight his own father to claim it... and if that's the case, he knows darn well that he'll have to be better than the best to pull it off. The only thing that seems to be holding him back is the PCA's battling rules, which make it hard to use the roughneck style of fighting that's been the trademark of his family for so long... oh yeah, and dealing with his uncle Sterling LaCroix every day hasn't exactly made things any easier either.
