Valentine's Massacre 2017: The King Of Fighters XIV
Extracted from rocksteady's submission:
Since the first shindig I did in 2009, it's been a fun ride doing this annual tournament raffle. And here in 2017, the legacy continues. After the trainwreck that was Street Fighter V last year (I AM TERRIBLY TERRIBLY SORRY GUYS) a savior has come from the heavens and bestowed upon us to wash that nonsense away.
THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV!
To compensate... I am coming out of pocket for you guys along with
. We got a TOP 8 prize pool this year. We got some very nice talent on deck this year. However the Boss Lady,
will be taking a break this year. No worries, this is a well earned vacation after offering her services for me for so long. Just enjoy the fun eh Boss Lady?
But we have a familiar line up for the Top 3 as you'll see in a moment with 3 artists for 4th, tie for 5th, and tie for 7th. I sincerely hope you all will have fun and get some excitement from the show and feeling of the unknown! HAPPY 2017 MOTHERFUCKERS! SPREAD THE WORD AND LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!
Universal Rules:
1. Choose a character from the roster provided. Unless specified, everyone can be picked and are no character lockouts. Meaning there is no 1st come 1st served layouts unless I make it clear that there will be so. (Will be explained later). Also you can only REPRESENT YOURSELF. Using multiple accounts will result in revoking your entry and a suspension from tournaments. Repeat offenses will result in a one way vacation to Italy.
2. if you don't want to choose, or like to roll the dice you will be given a Random character.
3. Matches are played out as myself vs
. And will ALWAYS be streamed.
4. This tournament is to be Double Elimination, (pray you don't go 0-2)
5. Match layout is first to 2 until the Grand Finals where it's First to 3.
6. The person that makes it through to designated areas on the final ranking, or "placing", will win some arts from the special designated artists.
7. If you see a name pop up on the list that isn't in the comments that means that the person contacted me through other means.
8. Prizes are BY DEFAULT your OC, or OCs if it was a team game, cosplaying as the picks that took you down the road to victory.
9. If the artist is NOT COMFORTABLE with drawing your characters or has an issue that is no fault of anyone's a switch is optional to another artist if willing. However if you personally are not willing to compromise with said artist, your prize will be forfeit and given to the next placing individual.
10. The raffle is for folks who enjoy the genre and enjoy art. This is a good opportunity for folks who don't normally get things to step up and snag something nice. However this is first and foremost done with the hopes that it is FUN for folks. As such, by principle I will not condone backhanded shit to influence picks. For example, if you attend the streams and make adjustments or decisions BASED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PLAYERS, that's a fair assessment of first hand experience of the players in question. Tier Whoring however because you are thirsty to win will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly. This raffle's integrity will not be put in jeopardy because someone would ruin the fun of others because they want to win so badly.
Special Rules:
1. This is indeed a 3v3 team game. Pick your 3 characters. No duplicates.
2. If you don't have any idea on characters and have questions on them, feel free to ask me. Nobody will mock you for not knowing, especially if fighting games aren't your forte.

Right. It's a lot of teams, so natually you can't watch it all. But, iirc, rocksteady puts them up on youtube after all's said and done.
Mmmhn, let's stop for a second.
It's basically a raffle, but not chosen through a random generator like usual. It's presented as a tournament that is streamed on
rocksteady's Twitch channel. He and
daigo will be playing out the matches. You just choose which team you want to represent you. If your team makes it to one of the ranking places, you get a picture. If not, well, hey.
So directions are:
1) Read the raffle rules: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8010136/
2) Go here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22243060/ Pick three characters to form your tem.
3) Enjoy the show. (or not, I tend to miss a lot of streams myself, sadly, even if they are fun to watch).
4) If your team places, work out the appropriate pic with the artist. When I won, I got this (sorry Daigo): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21388403/

Mmkay, well the list of characters to choose from is in the description there; and if you follow the link, it will bring you to a page with visual reference of each character. Basically you pick a team of three characters to participate in the tournament, they are played by the host of the tournament and his sparring partner, until there is only one team left. The teams that are in the top 8 positions get prizes.

I do not understand anything ... It may be a translation problem but ...
We need to know how to draw ?
Why choose a character ? Which ?
Can we take our OC ?
What are the prices ?
Who draws what ?
Fighting is how? Rolling dice to win ?
You have to win twice ?
How to fix "player performance" ?

Ugh, please don't remind me.... You literally had to BUY the best characters in the game for 13, bar none. Flame Iori is a classic that has never really changed all that much, bugs et all, with a great rushdown game and mix-ups for days with good neutral control. Nest-style Kyo is a MONSTER when it comes to controlling neutral and space, who's damage is quite good.
And then there is the abomination. The Karate Goblin. Mr. Karate.... One touch, just one... One stray hit is ALL he needs to kill a character and force momentum into his favour for the rest of the game. It's not unfair, but it's still a bitch to work against. And in the US... well, Get ready for The Karate Goblin army.
I am more than happy to leave that in the past.
