Cats in Heat Sketch
...just a lunch doodle. Somehow, I want to call her "Candy". She looks like a strawberry smoothie on this background. Anyway, is she was a pinup, would her physical appearance (body type, hair, eyes) be good?

oh you and your lunch doodle hehehe, I can't believe you are able to do such great art during lunch time... The pose is simply perfect and I LOVE the hair, the name seems to fit rather well too, especially with that background color hehe and the sweetness of the whole drawing in fact.
Thanks! Yeah, lunch sketches are just fun. I like getting to play around with them and I'm always happy when people enjoy them *glomps* Yeah, I think her name may end up being Candy, one of the pinup girls I'm thinking that all the pinup girls should be pastel in coloring like this one
*purrrs*
She. Is. Purrrfect! A lovely slender yet toned body, just the right proportions, hair like a velvet avanlanche all the way down her back... do not change anything about her. Please =^_^=
That pose is just about perfect too. A calm, gracious walk, inherent to cats, the soft, happy expression, the way she seems to glide on her lovely feet with her arms slightly spread like that as if poised upon a balance bar, where her true felinity of course will give her the perfect balance... I would not even use this as a pin-up, I would use this as a full life-size art painting on my livingroom wall, right opposite the couch where everyone can revel in the beauty of this pastel purity =^_^=
Yes, I'm being eloquent, and perhaps a little overly appreciative =~.^= But this lovely piece deserves that! There is not even that much pin-up-ish about her nudity, not even when you would detail her breasts and her vagina, it still remains a pure artistic nude, showing off nothing but pure, immaculate beauty.
Candy... yes, I can see her being called Candy, perhaps as an affectionate shortening for Candice, inspired by the color of her fur. A soft pink or violet would be just the thing for her, accompanied by either pastel yellow or skyblue eyes. The unusual color of her fur would not even look unusual, it would just simply fit, looking both beautiful, and delicious, like a dish of raspberries with cream =~.^= (and besides, I always love the more unusually colored characters =~.^= *points to her own lilac-furred cheerleader kittycat Lilac Plush, and her skyblue feral snowleopard/puma mix Misty Blue*)

*is speechless*
Oh my, thank you so much! This wasn't even a full rendering, just a sketch, but I'm absolutely thrilled that you like it! Thank you so much for your more than flattering words! *hugs* I believe I will definitely have to keep Candy on the roster for the Cats in Heat girls. It's an idea that I was thinking on, but I may make all the girls in unusual colors...sky blue, pink, creamy orange, lavender...and like a bright, soft yellow. I have to make a journal about it Thank you so much!!

You're so very, very welcome! And yes, even if this lovely picture is not a full rendering yet (as is also visible from the sketch lines and the partly unfinished left arm), it still already shows such a vibrant radiation of life and happiness! I think she would do very, very well for a place in a pin-up/artistic nudes portfolio. She seems like the kind of girl that'll already cheer you up by just being there =^_^=
I very much like that idea, yes indeed. Pastel colors go remarkably well with cats; they reflect the softness of felinity, the diffusion of silken pawpads, of velvety fur, of the calm, soothing purrs... but I'm going all poetic again here =~.^=
It might even be an idea to have a double side to the folio? Like, your more regular characters in their regular colors, and some of your regular characters and some of these new ones like Candy in soft pastel tints, rendered in a fashion similar to old, retro single-tint sepia photographs? Just something that popped into my mind here; thought I'd toss it out as an idea =~.^=

I think Candy would be a very cheerful and upbeat individual who is rarely seen without her smile. If she is wearing nothing else, she would always be wearing that And I'm glad you like the pastel idea, too
Hmm? A double-sided folio? Hmm...that could be a good idea, actually! The only problem is that at this moment, I'm running out of time. My comic is running a bit over schedule. I think I'm going to take a day off of work tomorrow to compensate and get that back on track. But, if I can get that out of the way, I'll have some time to work on this idea a little more thoroughly. Hmm... "retro single-tint sepia photographs"? I'll have to look a few of those up Thanks!

Hee, yes, I can see her as an effervescent, cheerful girl, maybe even a tad bit valley-girlish; "Like, hi! Isn't today just like a totally marvy day?" She'd strike me as the kind of girl wearing Care Bear T-shirts and denim Daisy Dukes and leg warmers and rainbow-colored multi-hoop bracelets. Well, when she would be wearing clothes, anyway =^_^=
And the idea of pastel-colored cats just so very appeals to me. Soft pink, lavender, lilac, skyblue, pastel yellow, even light grass green, it would just look perfect!
I can imagine though how your drawing work would take a lot of time. And of course, such a big ongoing project like a comic deserves priority! I don't know if you have already set a deadline, even for yourself, on a possible portfolio, but I think that could be easily pushed back a while to first get your comic back on schedule. After all, pictures of such lovely feline ladies... that's more than worth to wait for =~.^=
As for old sepia photos; if you already just type "sepia photos" into any given search engine, you'd be surprised with how many lovely pictures you'll be rewarded.

Oh, you're the best! Thanks! *hugs*
I haven't given a deadline for the pinups, but I needed them before July 2 (which is when I'll be traveling for the convention) so I wanted to have some done by then. But, I also agree that a project like this deserves time and care, so I shouldn't rush it *sighs* ...maybe if I can get one good pinup done, I can use that to advertise the folio....or, I can just sell the two or three that I may be able to get done...hmm...and they would advertise the upcoming ones...

*smiles and huggles warmly*
Hee, you're so welcome, dear! Mmm, yes, I can see how you would want to have at least a couple of them ready for when you go to the convention. And July 2nd, that's still two months away, so that should give a decent amount of time. But indeed, rushing anything never benefits the results, so it's better to indeed take your time, get your priorities sorted out and your projects on the right track and (at least somewhat) on schedule, and make sure that everything looks its very best. You could indeed have one or two of these lovely pastel kitties there as a promotion for the upcoming portfolio, have them advertising it for you.
*giggles*
I could even kinda see darling Candy here doing that work for you, hopping around with a big sign reading the details of the folio, and mewling happily at all the visitors; "Like, look at us! We're totally gonna be in a sexy portfolio! Yay and stuff! It's, like, gonna be a little while still and all, but, like, look at me! You know you like totally want us when we're done! Pre-oder now and all that jazz!"
*shakes her head and giggles*
Okay... I'm silly =~.^=

Yes, you ARE silly! But, laughter is a gift. *glomps* Well, two months seems like a long time, but it's really only like 16 days. ...I have a full time 9-5 day job Mon-Fri so it makes working on projects like this a little challenging. But, I'll certainly do my best And yeah, if Candy were real, I think she would enjoy doing some promotion like that!
That is so true =~.^= It's fun to be silly, because you can laugh off (most of) your troubles (I'm gonna leave my recent computer troubles out of that equation). Mmm, and I see, yes, that would indeed provide much more of a challenge since you of course have your job to take care of first; that's the utmost priority of course! =^_^=
*giggles*
I love Candy more and more... she's right in line there with my super-crazy girl Lilac and my somewhat less crazy girl Celeste. A perfect match! =~.^=

Yup, unfortunately money just doesn't fall from the sky, and bills don't pay themselves... (they should, though!). Ohh, and that sounds lovely! Would be real fun, indeed! Mmm, though Lilac might... not... exactly... be the... very best choice, come to think of it, due to her... occupation, so to say, hee. Ah well, either which way, by chance I do happen to have a reference picture of both of them, so that should not be a problem. Someday, in the future, when the time is right, when you don't have all kinds of priority projects that require much more attention first, anyway =~.^=

Hee, well, I do have a very wide range of cat characters... Maunzi, Serena, their daughters and son, Lilac, Lilac's seven sisters, Lilac's two daughters... and that's all from one story project. And not to forget my little feral quad silver Somali Linette from that same story project. And then there's Lasley the blue-point Birman with all her scars and so... Celeste... heck, my own self is a cat even. And all the members of my fictional band and Lasley's fictional band... and Chevelle... Chandra... Gwendolyn...
*laughs softly*
Heck yes, plenty to choose from, even though some of them are more like big cats instead of house cats =~.^=

Hee, come to think of it, I actually don't have that much boy characters... I guess my mate was right, I make way too many girls, haha! Maunzi's son isn't even my character; my mate more created him. But he's still an awesome boy and a lovely character.
*winks*
I have most pictures of a number of my characters in my favorites list, not in my gallery. Mmm, and maybe I should think about uploading the profiles I've written for most of them, if only to my scraps gallery... would be handy, I think =~.^=

It's like a sheer micro-robe thing. Lemme see...
Look at Victoria's Secret: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/col.....amp;rfnbr=5366
Some of those would look perfect.

Ooooh! Those are really cute!! *adds to wishlist* ...hmm...the only thing is, I hadn't planned on these cats being the types to wear clothes. Hmm...I wonder if I should reconsider that...maybe they could wear them just for the heck of it...hmm....I think I will make a journal about this tomorrow, but what do you think?

Speaking as an elder male, sometimes I feel nudity is overrated. It's better to have some mystery, something hidden from the eyes. It makes it more desireable. It leaves something to be discovered.
If you make the clothing they wear sheer or somewhat revealing, it piques the interest without showing everything.
Do I sound like an old guy yet?

Not at all! You sound like a man of wisdom
But, I think you misunderstood me, just a little. The way she is now would be the way she would appear in the pinups. In other words, there wouldn't be nipples or an exposed vagina. She would be like this just with poses that are alluring

Again I love what you've done with the eyes! I think she'd make a wonderful pinup.
I'd keep the colours the same - I love that milkshake pink, it's perfect for "Candy" :) I'd be tempted to add a second tone. Maybe keep it to three tones in total (that wonderful pink, the white and maybe a slightly darker pink tone to give her just a few shadows)?
Otherwise I think she's perfect.

Hmm...I can definitely see what you're saying, although a lot of older women do have narrow hips. ...mine aren't! I have a narrow-ish waist and full hips. But, a lot of my female friends have hips that are just sort of suggested, but not full out voluptuous and they're lovely that way. Hmm...I think I'll do a couple with fuller hips as you've mentioned and maybe leave this one as is to cover the feminine selection I'll post a new one soon. Thanks again!
Aw I love her! She's gotta pretty face.=) And she would make a good pin-up I believe. Her legs, face, and rest of the body in general look pretty awesome. But she looks more like a rasberry-strawberry smoothie to me... oh darn... now I want one.X3 But Oh My Gosh! Her left hand is invisi'bib'le! Haha.
I know this probably isn't the time or place to ask this, but the neat brown colored sketches you do, is that paper brown or do you change it to sephia tone to be different insead of white?
No wait a min.. she looks like Cotton Candy now that I think of it!

She's absolutely lovely! She'd be great as a pinup. Looking at this sketch I'd says he's a very carefree, young at heart sweetie who loves to dance and will quite often spring a few light graceful steps for no reason other than she loves it. I love the long hair, too
She's adorable, such an innocent happy face, and a graceful pose... Very feline if you imagine her walking on a fence or something;
Looking straight ahead, (instead of down) all relaxed and completely in her element on the high and narrow path. Might be an idea if you decide to do a background for her. Especially if it's an ally cat.
Dunno if it is a classic pinup pose, but it definitely works!

Oh, thank you! *hugs* I actually did a drawing of a different cat walking on a fence completely at ease. It was a drawing of Emilio and Loanzah But your description makes me want to have a go at it again.
Oh, this isn't a pinup pose! It's just me sketching out the character design for her
