Well, when it comes to copyright Patreon is more concerned about people posting stuff like movies, music or indeed any content that is actually ripped-off 100% wholesale form the original source. Fan Art is not copyright infringement in the sense that it doesn't claim ownership of the characters depicted and in its creation the artist is doing something that is transformative hence it is not a copy of the original. Besides, Patreon would be shooting themselves in the foot it they starting hindering people from creating fanart. Some of the site's top creators are well know for producing erotic fanart.

BUT (and this is a pretty big "but") there is a difference IF (also a big one) you create this Fanart free for everyone OR (you know :D) you actually earn money with. Normaly, If you create this content excusive for your Patreon bakers (its a sample, i also could use me as sample but i dont have patreon ^^;) then its against the law, since you use a original character which is owned by someone else to earn actually money. So normaly, so the law says, the difference between "its just fanart" and "its against the law" is just the thing between "i earn money with" and "i dont earn money with" - which i can also easy understand. i mean, how would you feel like (STILL a sample XD) if i use one of your characters you created and i earn actually money with this character not letting you know about that.
I guess you know what i mean :)

Almost all the art I create I release for free on all my profiles, what backer's get are larger versions, wallpapers and variants of said exact art, I don't believe in paywalls but I do believe on giving those who support me additional extras as a way to thank them for their support. Patreon is a donation site, not a purchase site. I would continue drawing and posting my art for free regardless but if people want to donate to my efforts so I can dedicate more time and energy into it I'll do more frequently, creating this kind of content on a regular basis requires time, effort and skill. If people want to contribute toward such efforts because they like what I produce they are more than welcomed and I'm thankful for it.
Again, it is not against the law because I'm not claiming ownership nor I'm selling merchandising or any products featuring said characters nor producing anything claiming to be "official".
I'm not tracing, nor copying preexisting work, I'm creating a completely new derivative work, not a single line of the art I drew was copied form any preexisting image, hence it is fair use. (Believe me, I've researched this extensively to make sure I'm not violating copyright law.)
If someone wants to draw any of my characters and earn money doing so they are free to do so but have to apply the same principles: It has to be a fully original piece of art drawn by them, no parts of my art can be used fully or partially copied or traced, it has to be drawn from scratch by that other artist and said art cannot be used for commercial purposes such as merchandising or claim the characters as their own.
Heck, a have people color some of my sketches with and without permission, who am I to tell them they aren't allowed to do so? Go right ahead, if anything this promotes my art and cause more people to follow my work overtime.

first off all, im glad you see it that way :) i hate peopel who actually use it...well as "paywalls" as you said it ("I don't believe in paywalls but I do believe on giving those who support me additional extras as a way to thank them for their support. " - I love that you actually said that.)
and well, your text kinda covers all which needs to be said i guess. Im just glad you said some parts in this text since what you explained there is exactly the reason why some people actuall are jump over the line between "fanart" and "law problems" - mostly the part with "claming ownership" since they use paywalls.
But yea i guess i love your opinion man, as i said, i enjoy your art and "would" like to help people and supporting them, sadly, i have myself money problems and cant donate them all the time with patreon but some other artists i already helped out with "one time donations" or commissions (if they have prices which people can actually effort and not draw on golden paper, if you know what i mean...). So nothing personal, i hope you just dont/didnt feel attacked by that what i said, the problem is just that what you said is kinda the exact same problem people do on patreon, claiming ownerships from characters they "dont" own, making money with them and creating a paywall. i duno the exact "rules" or "laws" for that but im sure that is not "full legal" doing it that way BUT since you said you dont "create a paywall" (which is ok for me at least :) ), i guess youre free do to what you want (lawwise i mean :D). I just hope you keep it up that way and people keep supporting your art man ^^

No offense taken, I welcome criticism and encourage it because it helps me improve. An artist has to be open to such feedback otherwise you'll never make it far. I thank you for following, favoring and commenting in my work. I hope your money issues are temporary and if things go for you favorably in the future on that regard, do consider me for some commission work in the future, I wouldn't mind rendering some of the sexy characters in your gallery in my art style. ;)
I sure would actually like to see one of my girls or characters in your style but i need to effort them first ^^ i sure will keep follow your stuff coz i like it and i dont see a reason why i should stop doing so anyways :D
one edit:
" I hope your money issues are temporary "
