"Why did you have to stab me? I'm only doing my job. To keep my people moving, and standing by the bomb."
Those lyrics have been about all I've heard from this song over the past day.
They of course belong to
Hali and his song I Blame the Spy
I've been teaching myself how to use faceposer for a machinima I decided I could do.
Of course, I'd originally expected a cakewalk. But this program has seen fit to show me otherwise.
What you're looking at? This tiny snippet, only ten seconds long? Yeah, that took me the better part of a day spread over two days to accomplish. Albeit the majority of the time was spent learning/dealing with problems. So lets call it an even four hours worth of actual work, the rest was troubleshooting.
It's strangely satisfying to see in motion though. After all the hair pulling, groaning, and occasional moments of sheer terror when I thought I'd lost everything... There is a glee inducing satisfaction when I watch the animation (simple as it is) and go "Yep. I made that."
Then of course I remember that this ten second snippet is just one of four "headshot" bits in the video I'm making. Two of those scenes containing three fully animated actors... Yeah, when I remember that, I fall back on the tried and true method of sobbing brokenly. *laughs*
As it is, I still haven't gotten this to work in game yet, and I haven't figured out why either. I'm following all the same steps, but somewhere along the line something is breaking. *sighs* Ah well. I'll crack it in time. When I do, you better believe I'll be youtubing that crud, even before the rest of the video (fingers crossed the rest of the video actually -happens-)
