I dunno if this could be considered a tutorial, but if it helps you then cool! <3
With the feather, I just went from darkest to lightest.
For the tail I blocked out the main shadows, then the fur tufts. After that, I just went in and did the smaller details! Then I added the highlights, and more small details! Then I added some fur tufts around the whole tail. <3
