Oh cool, didn't know she had a name; she's only listed as drill sergeant in the IMDB. Major Friedkin is a nice name.

Yeah, even though she was only in the movie for the police-academy training montage sequence, I really liked her. I liked how even though she was a hard-ass, she was legitimately pleased and surprised when Judy went against her expectations and proved her wrong.

An adorable picture! The movie only portrayed Major Friedkin as tough and heartless, but I maintain she must have had a softer and more loving side too. Slagging off incompetent or sloppy recruits at the academy may seem cold but is actually caring. Friedkin doesn't like to think any fellow officer might die, but the recruits are entering a harsh and dangerous profession. They need to be strong, flawless and well-prepared. for the hotter the fire, the harder the steel forged.
