One of the things that bugged me about my Rohirrim armor was that as realistic as I could get the body, the scabbard was just a box. A fancy box with metal bits, but still a rectangular box. And the sword was even worse. I wanted something that looked and felt much more in tune to the rest of the armor. The improvements are that these are narrower, smaller, and lighter, and the scabbard has a curved, oval cross section instead of a rectangular one. The tip of the scabbard is made from the same brass as the original one.
The sword is 1/4" thick oak, and is 34 inches from tip to pommel.
