The initial plan was to finish this in two weeks as my Christmas gift to me. Two months later it is my Valentines' gift to me, YEEY! x'D
This is Nyxis, who started out as a creation on a virtual pet website when I was 15 and has evolved over the years alongside me. I really poured everything I know about character rendering thus far into this model sheet, and I hope it shows. ^__^ I must credit two sources I've greatly admired over the years for the stylistic influence here: Don Bluth's legendary animated character expressions; and Brett Booth's "were" style of anthros, which are how I've always envisioned humanimal-mashes ever since I picked up my favorite drawing book.
Since the completion of Blindside in 2014, I've been thinking about making a spiritual sequel to Nyxis's story, and this would be her incarnation for it. And I know nothing of Graphic Design, so of the little that I absorbed to attempt the celebrity magazine look here, I apologize for burning out the eyes of the experienced. x'D It was fun. And I thought about it but just couldn't bear to use Comic Sans, so you're welcome.
I think I'm out of words for now, so please do enjoy the piece! Happy Valentine's Day!

I wouldn't say over. (It is definitely set in an alternate universe because I wanted to try new things that wouldn't make sense in the context of her previous, completed storyline.)
The idea was originally sparked by a struggle to find a place for her in a more modern world, because many of my world-building friends around me were crafting more slice-of-life environments and it didn't seem like any occupation I put Nyxis into really seemed to be her unless I glorified it.
In a modern setting (possibly without magic, or naturally occurring technicolor anthros) I still wanted to preserve to her key physical traits and her character: her sword, her bright colors, and her sense of adventure. So performer seemed to be the best conclusion I could reach: She gets to keep everything she ever Mary Sued, but at the cost that it's not really real.

I unfortunately had to complete the webcomic through written word (It was originally supposed to be a 10-page short comic about how she lost her eye, then spiraled into her whole life story and I realized quickly I wouldn't be able to keep up with how much I'd developed it if I tried for drawing it all).
But, after the comic pages end, the script with the rest of the story should be linked and that's all you need. I do apologize for the confusion because I know the transition is a bit strange; and thank you for asking about it! =)

Have you considered commissioning piromane he has an absolutely fantastic Don Bluth art style. I think she'd look smashing if he drew her.
