Joey was huddled in a corner surrounded by various art supplies as he was hard at work making his mate a valentines card. Joey's valentines diaper crinkled as playfully swished his tail about, as it had a cute red heart on the back and a couple heart outlines on the front. Jay couldn't help but notice the little otter working on something and tried to see what it it was and walked up crinkling in a similar looking diaper himself.

"What are you up to over there?" The wolf asked trying to peek over Joey's shoulder

Joey let out an eep before huddling over his valentines card for Jay trying to keep it hidden from view.

"Ummmm....nothing, nothing at all" Joey simply replied

"Are you sure? it looks like something to me" Jay replied with a light chuckle

"Yup, I'm very certain it's nothing" Joey replied not wanting to let him ruin his surprise

"Awwww, that's no fun to be working on nothing, why not make something fun?" Jay asked giggling some

"I will do that, shortly, just as i soon as i finish....umm....with this nothing" Joey answered nervously

"Hehe, If you say so" Jay replied before walking off somewhere

Joey let out a sigh of relief as he was finally able to resume working on his gift, a heart shaped paper box, which he would hide a small gift inside and a little valentines not on the inside of the box's paper.

"He is gonna love this so much, I just know it!" Joey exclaimed silently to himself as he got to work on the note


Meanwhile, Jay was up to his own idea, pulling out some strap on cupid wings from under a bed and proceeded to dress up in them to look like cupid.

"Hehe, I'm sure a silly butt like him would love this get up!" jay giggled as he pulled out a small toy bow and suction cup arrow "With cupids arrow I shall shoot his cute crinklebutt with all my love!" Jay chuckled as he took a practice shot at a wall only for the arrow to fall to the ground "But first, I need to practice my aim"

While Jay worked on his aim, Joey was busy putting the finishing touches on his gift making sure the box would hold its shape, as he placed his own handmade wayfinder inside knowing how much his mate liked them.

"Perfect! I can't wait to see his expression when he see's this!" Joey chirped happily to himself

Joey smiled and began to write a small message inside the box's cover. As joey was writing his love note, Jay had been getting the hang of using the toy bow, able to get the arrow to hit its mark at least.

"I think i'm getting the hang of this, I might be even better than the real cupid!" Jay exclaimed to himself in a playful tone.

Crinkling on out with every step, Jay had slowly begun to tiptoe up to the otter who was busily unaware as he was putting the cover on the box to finish his little gift. Jay giggled to himself as he saw the perfect opportunity, and pulled the toy sticky arrow on back against the string of the toy bow, and took aim. Just as Joey stood up to look for his mate, he suddenly felt a soft thwack against the back of his diaper leaving him with a surprised expression, as the arrow stuck to the heart on the back of his diaper.

"BULLSEYE!" Jay exclaimed giggling cutely and playfully

Joey turned around only to see his mate dressed up cutely like cupid, and smiled knowing what he was up to.

"hehe, I have been hit by cupid's arrow, and the first cute thing i see, is cupid himself!" Joey replied with a wide loving smile before pouncing his mate playfully.

The two chuckled softly together nuzzling each other lovingly as Joey handed Jay his gift. Jay carefully opened it up seeing a wayfinder inside made with a seashell similar to the one Joey always wore and surrounded with some fake rose petals pointing in 5 different directions around the shell. Jay smiled slipping it on around him happily before looking on the back of the cover of the box reading the note inside and quickly gave the otter a big hug and kiss.

" Hehe, I love it! Thank you so much!" Jay exclaimed nuzzling the otters chest lovingly.

Joey smiled glad to hear that the wolf loved his gift and held him closely, "Anything for my adorable cupid"

The two snuggled together lovingly and cutely as the lid of the box laid beside them with a poem reading,

To my sweet, adorable, loving mate,
To find someone special like you had to be fate,
I love you with all my heart,
And I hope that we may never drift apart,
Seeing you,makes my day feel golden and new,
I am truly glad that I got to meet you,
I only wish there was more ways that i could show,
That I hope our love will only continue to grow
With love for always and forever, Joey

The poem at the end was written by e which does surprise me a bit since poetry was never my forte, I tried in creative writing back in high school and I was terrible at it, had trouble thinking of how to make it all rhyme, but i feel I did a good job here, gave it my all anyway

I did enjoy writing this, was fun to write something cute for valentines day, and also something to hopefully get my creativity going again to continue writing more stories
