A quick doodle done at Buca di Beppo, a tasty Italian place, after hanging out with some fursuiters, volunteering time atta park--I was a fursuit spotter :) I was sooo squee happy when this pic flowed so suddenly easily from my hands at the restaurant (if you look close you can see the text printed on the other side of the placemat...paper...thingy)! I didn't even know I was going to draw a cat until I was done! :) And my markers, I need more markers, and new ones! Wanted to give this kitkat a purple tank top, but he got a boring blue instead. Oh well.
Beside me was Kumo, a new artist contact/buddy who sketched a MUCH BETTER fu dog beside me on her paper! Good times, and a good sketch to boot! And this is the first traditional media art I've done in a while, since I started the car series. Scrap later.

This drawing's pretty good, especially for a quick doodle. The shading on this is also cool. I honestly don't get how you people can shade this well with markers!
And personally, I think that blue fits him more, especially considering that he's wearing orange shorts. Blue and orange are opposites on the color wheel, after all, and pieces of clothing that contrast like this often work well in outfits. (Or at least it seems.)
Though, I noticed something a bit strange at around the leg area. From his left pantsleg, it looks like there are two legs coming out of it. It looks like you had originally planned to draw the left leg to what is now the right foot, but decided to change it to make a different pose and forgot something. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like.
I don't mean to complain about it, because I do like this drawing! But I did want to bring it to your attention if you didn't already realize this.

Why thank you! :) Now lemme tell you about the truth of shading/coloring this, if you want to know:
I didn't have many markers or colors with me, so I just used what I had =/ That gray I used, is a Prismacolor cool 20% grey. (Having Prismacolors of any color are not necessary to making spiff arts though.) The marker was also nearly empty, so I really had to go back and forth a lot to get ink on there. It's not really the skill, it was more circumstance that makes it look as if I could smoothly shade. XD
And... now that I see that about the leg of the shorts, oogh, how could I have missed drawing that one necessary line, so that it doesn't look like he's got three legs? @_@ You're right, that's just a mistake, oh well.

I figured that your grey marker was low on ink, but what you did still created a pretty cool effect regardless.
My attempts of making the most out of a low marker have never turned out well, to be honest. XD Maybe I should try doing that sometime.
And mistake aside, I must say that you've been improving on your artwork quite a bit, dude. Keep up the good work. =)
