Italian Alps, I believe. This would have been as we were flying over what used to be known as Cisalpine Gaul. These are part of those mountains in the oddly-shaped flair of Italy, particularly, approaching Milano. We were flying in to Roma, and so passed over these mountains in the morning. Hence, 'Morning River,' since the fog rolling down the mountains looks rather like a river to me.
