It feels nice to get a holiday oneshot done and out in time for once. After the sheer drought of last year, it’s a nice change of pace, even if it is more of a straight-up holiday oneshot, compared to me writing-around-traditional-holidays with the PMD ones. Working with a more modern setting like the main/anthro-verse does lend itself to more opportunities in some ways, I’ll give it that.

(Also, yes, I did finish this in time for Valentines. I just didn't post it here yesterday.)

Plus, it’s the first thing I’ve written that somewhat (not completely, but somewhat) takes advantage of the Alola worldbuilding I did earlier this month/last month. If I ever get the slice-of-life thing I want to do off the ground, it’ll be nice to have gotten this under my belt as a training exercise. Which, well, I guess that’s sorta what Writing Exercises are, no?

I’m still not really sure what exactly I’m doing or aiming for writing-wise right now, especially since I no longer have the motivation to do that HGSS thing I was doing (big surprise), so who knows! Maybe I’ll actually double-back and start on that second PMD story like I thought about.
