How does this work from a game mechanic's stand point? Seeing as this is a "total conversion" type thing for Magic... are there rules in place to allow you to attack buildings instead of just the player?

Yes, I actually posted this in my journal. There is no actual 'Player', per se. You lose when all ur buildings are destroyed.
You can also choose which of your opponents buildings each creature attacks, tho you still have no control over which ones they block with what creature.
