"So, Sister, tell me, is my wonderful nephew looking forward to seeing me?" asked the large shiloh shepherd.
Wielder set her ears forward, saying nothing. Sasika groaned and replied with gravity in her tone, "You know I am marked for death upon returning to my Brother's land..."
"Well," the eastern timberwolf began to speak in rhythm with her gait, "I suppose I will be likewise marked for escorting you back home."
Sasika's black muzzle drew up into a sly grin. "You are willing to follow me into death, Wolf? Ha! I remember many years ago you were trying to send me there!" The last part was not said with any malice.
Wielder smiled and laughed through her fangs as her brown eyes met the gold of the shepherd's. "I promised you on my life that no harm would befall you or your pack as long as I had life in me. I meant it."
The two exchanged silent grins and pressed forward.
Skye, the saluki, watched her lupine mate with worry. She had heard nothing but horrible stories of Sasika's betrayal of Arc after this father's (Sasika's brother's) death. Now, Wielder was risking her life for her...however, doubt tugged at the sharp mind of the sighthound...Arc had lied openly about Wielder...what if the shepherd had suffered the same fate as she?
Meanwhile, Godai heaved with every expansion of his great chest. "Goddamn it," he thought, "here I am chasing three bitches...all three of them descending from the fastest legs in the canine world...and I could be at home...in my den...with a certain border collie..."
Just more development for the comic. Avyris over on DA allowed me to adopt a design she had up for a german shepherd dog, and it fit Saskie perfectly.
Squeeee!
