Haha, you always post that in you descriptions though! Do you use the ink-dropper tool all the time, or do you make a palette then ink drop them as necessary?
Also: I'm getting a hang of the painting deal. My teacher gave me value exercises and although I haven't found a twenty sided die, I've used other objects in one light to help me distinguish the colors. Also color theory readings have helped me tons too.
I need to post more, which I'll do soon enough.

I dont paint overtop the image in photoshop, i just increase the contrast by making a copy of the image, putting it on top as an overlay layer, and adjusting the hue/saturation/transparency of that layer. Occasionally if the colors are too red or yellow i just throw on a color adjustment layer
If the colors are working in relation it all works out :3

Haha I meant within the Colors! Program itself, not Photoshop. I understand how to tweak it, and I love playing with adjustments to see what will work most effectively for my piece.
Because I usually have a problem on my DS of muddying up my colors, or not getting the effect I want.

I dont make a pallete because I wouldnt stand by it, haha. My pallete is already on the painting; so for example the dark in the nose is the darkest I go, so I eyedrop from that whenever I need "black". The elbow has one of the brigher purples, so i go there when I need the brightest purple. Part of the face has the lightest blue, so etc.
And everything else is wherever else i need it. Eyedropper is a huge deal!

Yeah it is! And thank you so much for the tips dude! I absolutely appreciate every single bit of it, and I've been practicing your suggestions you've given to me in the past. It's been of great help.
I usually set down the colors I'm going to use in a corner so I can eye-drop them until the end where I fill it in with the remainder of the background.
I think yours is more intuitive and interesting though.

this reminds me of a book my sister had, something about bears and jam and this magical fantasy berry world with blueberry waterfalls and ... just... so many berries. at the end all the bears get naked with the little boys and make jam all night long. or maybe they don't get naked. i can't remember, it was so long ago.
anyway, nice color :3

Haha was actually supposed to be yogurt, but I can see how it looks like tea (with cream) now :D
It was a DSlite when I did it; I use a DSi now. Dont feel like picking up the XL because I just bought the DSi a year before XL was announced and I was a little bitter about it. Also resolution doesnt change anyways so
