Breaking Through

This is a very special personal piece that I've had in mind for a very long time, and have worked with my dear friend Rasta of DragonLovers on for quite a while. I think he did an absolutely spectacular job capturing my feelings and emotion and meaning behind it all, his art really is quite beautiful and there's nothing quite like it. Perfect for expressing this special moment in my life :)
Here, I'm seen swimming through the dark, cold, unknown waters beneath a solid layer of ice, but by swimming fast enough and slamming into the barrier with all my confidence, all my might, I'm eventually able to break through into the light and fresh air!
Much the same, this is a metaphor for myself, and my own achievement in breaking through my own personal barriers to become the dragon you see today. Believe it or not, for most of my life, I was a shy little dragon who wasn't even aware of being a dragon, with no friends; lost, unsure, afraid of the future. It's been a long journey, but I've finally accepted who I am, and have come to love and be happy with myself. And I've made a ton of incredibly wonderful friends and met all sorts of fantastic (and often equally as strange as me) people! I really wouldn't be here without you all :)
As such, in my own way I want to give back to everyone who's helped me realize who I am and to enjoy myself, enjoy life as it is rather than seeking for more or for changes that are out of my control. I aim to be that "shining beacon of eeee" as some have put it, to spread the happiness and eeee to everyone, that hatchling innocence and wonder, to bring out smiles and laughter wherever I go, and brighten everyone's day a little from their own sometimes bleak and frozen-over days. You've all inspired me so much, and I hope I can give you all a little inspiration too, to break through those barriers of your own someday! ^.=.^

The metaphor and imagery go well hand in hand! And I like the look of escape and freedom on their face.
