This is a personal picture for me, a picture that I take to heart.
I support our military men and women 100% . I think everyone should. I may not always agree with why we are at war for , and I may not agree with the political points... but they are all enlisted and ordered to be there. It is a choice to be in the military, but not a choice all the time for their deployment.
I got angry earlier while reading an article about anti government people protesting the war. That is entirely their right... but they were doing it at a soldier's funeral. There is a time and a place for everything... THAT is not right to me. They should keep in mind that it is our soldiers that give them that right to protest. It is our soldiers that fight and die for our rights in this country. They do it to protect us. To serve this country... and there is nothing more noble, more patriotic than that to me. And I hold them all in my thoughts and my prayers everyday. I have both admired them, and I am proud to say that I am married to a veteran of the US Air Force.
So this is to them. To all the women and men who serve and fight everyday. For all the men in my family that were in the Navy, cor my brother and husband who served in the Air Force, and for my friends, still serving and those over sees that I worry about everyday of my life. I support you and I will till I am no more.

I am with you completely here Kimmy, both in pride for those who serve in the military and the disgust of those who would belittle the sacrifices made at a soldier's funeral. It is so wrong for so many reasons. For those that don't know my father retired as a Lt. Col in the US Air Force and served as a WSO for a large part of his career. My grandfathers were veterans of WWII, Korea, and Veitnam. My father's father was a Marine Col. in the infantry while my mother's father served as a bomber pilot and reached the rank of Lt. Col.
Getting back to the art here Mitsy looks like Lady Jay from G.I.Joe. Great art Kimmy and looking forward to more of this around July.

thank you so much ^^ I come from a loooooong military background ^^ all were Navy men except for my bro and hubby ^^ they were both USAF I just wanted to show my appreciation for our military men and women. They deserve so much more than what I could give them. I owe them my life ^^
Well, I think from some pics/comments of mine that, even though I do respect soldiers and am proud of them, I am against the war and against them being in iraq/Afghanistan....
I am glad my brother never had to go anywhere, although he does work for the military and is a sound electrician for them, I also have two friends with different opinions about the subject, one wants to go to those dangerous places but can't, cuz he hurt himself in an air force training and the other one is there but is against it and can't wait to come back.
I just wish people picked the fights better instead of just sending soldiers anywhere to die (sorry if this pisses you off, or anyone off, it's my opinion).
I, myself, don't want Joel to ever join any military force, at all.
Especially how unhealthy he usually is.

Have they thought that sometimes they can't choose where they are going?
And sometimes it's for defense.

*hugs* that doesnt piss me off ^^ you have the right to your opinion just as everyone does ^^ and I agree with you. I hate this war we are in and I hate the reason we are sending are troops over there for. Buuuut... thats why I support them. They need it ^^ they are ordered there to fight wiether they agree with the war or not. They die fighting for this country. Sooo... while I may not support the cause... For some reason I am very sensitive to this kind of stuff, especially because people keep telling Joel to enter just because it's a stable job.

^^ well... that is why Tim entered...the stable job thingy.... I was pregnant and married to him, and we both had low paying dead end jobs... and we thought the military was the way to go. But.... people have to understand that it is not for everyone ^^ *hugs* we were fortunate that he got a mechanical specialist job and never got deployed over there ^^ I would just die everyday worrying about him if he did ^^
I support the troops as well..all those men and women fighting to protect their country.
Even if they fight the wrong enemies, it's not in THEIR hands, they are only doing what they've been told.
That said, Mitsy looks cute in Military form :)

I am glad that you liked it ^^ I wanted to show my support for the military, cause I feel that lacks so much in this country today. It always upsets me when people protest the war and say that soldier's deserve to die, but at a funeral? how awful! I would have run those people over with my car had I seen it. they just don't get it that if it werent for you and all the other military men and women protecting us that we would all be speaking German by now, and they would not have that right to say such harsh things. It just irritates me to no end. Buuuut.... there are more like me ^^ I wish there was a bigger number though.

Between my family and friends, I've got someone in every branch of the service... except the coast guard.
One of the first things I learned when I was little was that when your country yelled 'jump', every soldier had better get off their ass and into the air. Civilians are supposed to be there to catch if they land wrong.

I am sorry to hear that, it is never easy loosing those you are close to, and after my husband's years in the air force, I know very much that your friends, your "co-workers" are your family <3 I am so very thankful to every soldier out there, from veterans to currently enlisted... I care, love and support every one ^^ if it weren't for military men and women, we would not be here today <3 I get so angry at the civilians who dont care, and if I am in ear shot of it, I will go off on them like its no ones business! <3
