Though you often see Azu toying with those he cares for in his cavernous maw, he rarely treats them as meals. Humans, however, are one of his favourite snacks. Lay back, belly already full.. one more can't hurt!

This looks lovely ^_^
The lighting looks really nice.
The pose looks lovely and very restful.
I personally am a fan of sketchy lines as I feel it adds in some of the artist's character :D
And something about that expression is oddly adorable!
This came out looking brilliant ^_^

It's a shame you've not been around too much. I was originally wanting your feedback while it was in the works >>
I kinda want him to be adorable. Too many grr angry dergs that need to lighten the fuck up. Azu is a positive fella... mostly. xD
I was debating about keeping the lines in or not -- it was all actually painted onto a single layer; so it was the coloring layer and the outlines. I just felt it looked more "right" with the outlines in.
I guess I've always strived for a "messy" style -- I personally like that kind of aesthetic. xD I just sometimes go OTT with rendering.

I'm glad you think so!
I was feeling a bit "meh" and decided to just start painting on a layer pretty randomly.. kinda ended up just building up off that so the foreground is most refined; refining the background woulda been a pain given it was all on a single layer.
I personally like messiness in art though, I like rough blotchy painterly looks -- something you can gaze at and let your mind fill in some of the blanks while you admire the weird brush use. :D
