UPDATE: I did some major changes and additions. I reeditted the shadowing, added more highlights, and added the delta shield pattern to the uniforms. Hopefully this one's much better.

Even though the pic is nice the movie itself is total crap.
J.J Abrams can go to hell, he expects to get away with re writing the entire bloody history of Star Trek but he wont.
He has himself to blame when us older Star Trek fans get his head on a silver platter...

I have seen it thank you, and I think the movie sucked.
The only thing I liked was Zach Quinto as Spock, but the movie itself is a travesty.
First we get Khan II in Nero, I mean come on Nero is a total copy and paste of Khan.
Dead wife: check,
Bent on revenge: check
Ceti Eel's: check (only this thing went down the throat)
Total loony nutcase: check.
Then the Enterprise itself, the bridge looked like a friggin Apple store and the engineering looked like my friggin basement. The design of the outsiide of the ship is the only thing that looked recognizable.
Then there are the continuity changes, I mean come on didnt we have enough of that crap with the turd that was Enterprise?
Not only did they destroy Vulcan and kill Spocks mom they pretty muych treated it like the original series didnt even exist in the first place.
Then whats with this friggin red matter, I mean come on why dont just use dark matter?
I did not like any of the actors except Zach Quinto, heck I take the cast of New Voyages anyday as you are not expecting perfection there (new voyages is a fan project so it can be excused)
Abrams should have paid attention to the original series, he was more concerned about making money then paying tribute to a universe that has nine hundred times more value then anything he has ever done.
Why crap like Lost is popular I have no idea, and dont get me started on that Godzilla ripoff Cloverfield.

Not only does it/did it exsist, but its a continuation of the series in it follows the story of what Spock alpha did after his adventures on the Enterprise. Remember, the black hole caused a time warp, throwing spock and nero back in time and altering reality from Nero's actions. Spock alpha literally spells it out there and I think Jj wrote it this way specificly to slap the ZOMG you totally ruined star trek James dad dies, vulcan blows up zomg foaming mouth star trek fans.
Its because the event in the normal Star Trek reality time stream led to this alternate reality where Nero killed Jtk's dad and destroyed vulcan. Its still Star Trek and it was great.
As far as paying tribute to the series, I think you should watch it again with alot less anger. In the end its a testimate to the fact that even the reality altering events the crew experinced, they were still destined to serve toghether.
As far as lost goes, yeah it shouldnt have gotten past season 2. But i liked Cloverfield, but I followed the viral marketing game they had with the tagurito/tidal wave terrorist group before hand so *shrugs.*.

They still exist. ST IX is an alternate reality and Spock Prime spells this out like Frenor says. The movie is not only a sort of restart, it's also a continuation to Nemesis. So it's reboot/sequel. The prequel comic ST: Countdown elaborates on this more. JJ himself says he didn't want it to disrespect 40 years of cannon by making a clean reboot, but an alternate timeline to explore new things. Go check Memory Alpha if you don;t believe me.
