Nice perspective piece...
"Long before man made his bright, shining citadel-cities to hold back the night, we were there. Watching. Waiting. We still lurk amongst them, as we have for eons. It's an okay gig, I guess. It has its moments."
I really like this. The look on your face is just great, it's just so wry and perfect. You also did a really good job doing the titular lantern, especially in this perspective. I also noticed a certain familiar symbol on the poster...
Though I do have a question: where exactly is that darkness/entity-thing emanating from? Is it coming out of the ground, or what? I still like it though. Mirth and grimness, light and darkness, all wrapped up as one . . .

The darkness is always eating at the edges of the light. Not out of the ground bur perhaps along it.
I had to make the lantern the focus. And when I took the pic I made sure to anle the camera so the flash bounced off where the lantern was.
Mirth and grimness, light and darkness, all wrapped up as one . . . those qualities make for good art.
