A few months back, Sonicinterface on Deviantart wrote up a story adding to the adventures of intrepid, but curse-prone archeologist Carolina Chase, this time taking our heroine to Transylvania to face against the lord of vampires himself, Dracula (or at least parts of his home security system) She is joined in her search by an unlikely ally, a mirror-daemon in Dracula's service. The two split up to navigate the Castlevania-esque maze of puzzles and corridors and run into separate werebeasts. (I guess that Callie's bad luck is contagious!) Needless to say, the two mirror images end up very differently, with Callie becoming a werebat, while her mirror takes on a more lupine appearance.

I wanted to try and capture the mirror parallels in this piece and play around with the composition a bit. In the end, I'm pretty proud of how they turned out (although I definitely need more practice on drawing bats, and probably should have gone with a more vampire-bat style rather than the fruitbat look in hindsight.) I hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think and what further adventures Callie should go on!
