Here we have Joel Willcox aka Hot Route, one of the former star players for UC Berkeley’s college football team, now enforcer and member of the Gym Brats elite sport team the punk trashers.

The raptors fall from grace came when he was suspended for allegedly setting fire to an opponent on the field. Many suspected he had a lighter on him and he set fire to one of the players with it. But in reality he had known about his own pyromancer abilities for some time and had been illegally using them to to make it seem like his opponents had nasty grass burns, when he was actually slightly burning them during tackles, forcing them from the field for treatment.

During his suspension, he was approached by a gym brat recruiter who told him his chances of playing in the NFL were over once the review board completes its investigation and discovers that he has powers.

The recruiter offered Joel a chance to make amends for his foul play by joining the gang, being trained by them and fighting a cause bigger than any dream he could hope for.

He was recruited into the gang, soon rising in the ranks until he made the punk trasher squad, standing alongside other former college and national football players as well as Thrasher himself.
