Stuffed French Toast from Over Easy
Vrghr found a new breakfast place, just opened a couple days ago. So you know wuffy had to drop in and check out their menu.
They produced a VERY tasty and well-plated Stuffed French Toast. Wuffy had to snap a picture of it, to offer a little lesson on how to turn a "normal" breakfast fare into something quite artistic.
By they way, VERY yummy, too!
You can find art anywhere! Just because you aren't handy with paints or markers, doesn't mean that you can't find outlets for your artistic side. Be open to "outside the box" ideas. Foods can be art, too!

Wuff has seen art created from the strangest things. Culinary Art is at least "legit" (well, in many circles it is). But Vrghr has seen amazing creations from such odd sources as Dryer Lint! *grins*

Ummmmm... this looks so good!!!
And definitely, they call it the culinary arts for a reason ;) you just learn how to paint with spices and ingredients... and instead of just the eyes ( or ears) you also have the taste buds and sense of smell, plus texture!
You don't have to appeal to just 1 or two senses, you've got to appeal to 4 even 5!

Very true! Some movies and theme parks are touting "4D" presentations, where the movies are not only shown in 3D with special glasses, but there are "direct contact" stimulus added too, like vibrating chairs, little wind gusts, mist and rain, and more.
But chefs have been working in "4D" since the dawn of cooking! Presentation demands knowledge of a color palette, shape, "finish" such as glossy or matte. Many times folks have mentioned, "Everything is white, you need some other colors" for Vrghr's presentations.
But a chef needs to work in scent and aroma, and in taste, and in texture and "mouth feel". Listen to the judges on cooking shows critiquing their contestants, and hear "Wonderful flavor! But you need to add some crunch." or "Good combination of textures, but you need more spice."
They all play together in the experience. And even sound- Ruth's Chris steakhouse flaunts the fact that they bring the steaks out on a 400 degree metal platter, and you can hear the sizzle from across the room! Or listen to the snap and crunch of a crispy coating, or a potato chip. They sell the "crunch"!
And lets not forget that foods don't only feed the senses, but the body! Healthy cooking goes hand-in-hand with the presentation.
Cooking offers such opportunity for expression!

*chuckles... looks good...
today, because of a family injury, I was taking care of the cupboard putting the groceries away when I spotted all these stacks of pudding boxes. Guess who made pudding? How easy could it be? Milk, pudding powder, mix and chill.
looking forward to August V.

Pudding - so easy, yet so tasty!! And so versatile! Pour it in layers in a cup, and you have a parfait treat. Whip in some cool whip or whipped cream, and you get a "moose". Spread it on lady fingers or sponge cake, and top it with fruit from a "triffle". Stick it in a graham cracker crust for a pie or a tart.
Or just eat it with a spoon! *GRINS*
Really looking forward to August here too! Vrghr is exploring the possibility of renting an AirBNB place near the convention hotel. One with a full kitchen, table space for several furs, and perhaps a nice "movie sized" TV. Then wuffy can invite furs over for "Vrghr treats" during the stay. *grin*
Looking forward to a Grey Muzzles gathering too!
