I thinks that is the most moons I've ever seen in a piece of art, or anything else, for that matter. Four. Wow.
Anyway, yeah, "oldest of the old." I'm glad you've made the switch from pure pencil to ink. I used to do only graphite, but once I realized pen is way darker (and thus, cooler, right?), and I tend not to erase a whole lot anyway, I switched to pen. Pencil gets easily smeared, and, again it's really light compared to the "acid-free-blinding-white" of sketchbook or A5 paper.
To be honest, this isn't as good as your latest stuff, which you obviously know. I think the flaw that stands out the most is the lack of consistency: the woman's right wing has plenty of detail and very much looks like a wing, but the left wing lacks such detail and looks a bit strange as a result. The woman's hand on the rock is good, but her other hand is slightly thicker and seems shorter. Additionally, I think her head is a little too wide on the left side (the viewer's left). Another minor thing is the reflection of the moons' light on the waters: even if the water is very smooth, I think the reflections should have some darkness in it. In other words, when the moon reflects on the water, the waves not only make the light wavy on its edges, but also break it up. I think 'reverse-highlights' of the cresting waves would make it look more realistic, and, therefore cool. -er. Yeah.
Regardless, I can't draw this well (at least, when it comes to anything remotely human), so I'm sort of "maligning the master." Still, I hope this helps/doesn't annoy you too much/vindicates your suspicions/interests you strangely.

No problem! You know, if I can figure out in my madness what's newer and what ain't.
And if I don't write too much on a few of them, leaving me little time to review them all. But never fear, the darkness is here!
On another note, tears? I don't know, I've always thought my critiques should either taste like a) rocky-road ice cream or b) roasted human flesh*. Which do you prefer? I'm truly torn, though I think rocky-road can stand on it's own better than the flesh, as it requires condiments (like any meat) to enhance the flavor.

Simple dear sir, the new stuff is passable inks while the older stuff resembles piles of festering shit
Seriously. Condiments on meat. Blasphemy of the worst sort.
In all seriousness, I prefer my steaks barely cooked at all. Truly rare. A good piece of meat has it's own fine flavor. Golden corral is starting to add steak grills to their restraunts, try it out sometime.

I think I went to one of those with my uncle for brunch. It was pretty good, for buffet food.
But seriously, sir, I cannot agree with your position. I say unto you verily, one can overwhelm the subject of the meal (the delectable meat, of course), but if one knows one's art, one can enhance the subject, add to it. Is it not that contrast, the glorious confluence of chaos and discord that we seek? A meshing of the mushy and crunchy, the sweet and bitter, the moist and dry? I am sorry, good sir, but I cannot understand such a puritanical and intolerant position. Good day.
...
It's funny, I've never like rare meat very much, excluding sushi (good sushi, of course). I definitely lean towards the "medium-well" end of the spectrum, and I know I'm eating at a bad place when I have to send it back to get it how I asked. My dad likes medium-rare, but it's just not my thing.
But you know, you didn't really answer my question. Rocky road or human flesh? I gots ta know!*

I must object, on grounds of personal opinion, if no farther. If preparing the meat myself, I will add spices to enhance the flavor.
'Steak sauce', however, I view as an affront to dining. I don't view it as intolerance, but preference. If you choose a meal other than what I would choose, I would not ask you to change your selection. The fact I like my meat bleeding on my plate does not mean I will ask you to join me in the same.

I love my steaks very rare, ground beef and such, I prefer very cooked. I have a weakness for good sushi, and since I travel a lot I know of more than a few good sushi places. (The best I've found so far was in Chesapeke VA.)
The sweetness of pain and fear flavors the tears. Rocky Road.

Well, I hate steak sauce. It tastes like crap. On burgers I just use ketchup, cheddar, and yellow mustard, but to each his own (you should see my dad! He made a hummus, pimento-cheese, horseradish-mustard, turkey and cranberry sandwich! It was revolting! That man has no taste-buds).
Yeah, great sushi's always good. Have you been to any of the places in DC? I went back there last year, and man, if you know some local Asian-Americans, you can find some really BA food. Oversized bento-box lunch for the win, I'm tellin' ya. If I ever get near Chesapeake, I'll have to check that place out.

That sounds like a very strange song. I shall have to hear it!
