A sketch commission I got from
owlcan and then inked and colored by ME.
Yes slimes. You know them as that reoccurring and pretty much weak opponents you find in a dungeon that's the equivalent of bores in World or Warcraft or something. But then Owly came up with an interesting concept that in a Modern D&D world you could keep a more domesticated slime as a pet, which is kind of like having a pot bellied pig as a opposed to a razorback on a leash. The first concept appeared in a little drawing called Modern Diaper Bardwhere we see a modern bard character dragging her pretty slime along that ground in a leash. It was such an interesting concept I wondered what a full blown petshop would look like and here we are.
As to what's going on in this picture, well we have a cute petshop girl spending her time looking after the little slimes in their pen. And while most seem to be having a good time, sliming about, jumping for joy and falling in love, others like to play little games like crawling up the walls or a game of tug-o-war on a nice little rope she brought. And just like little puppies on little slime starts to gnaw and tug on that robe but since they're a fairly week creature you'd have to be pretty weak to let a Slime win a match, but I'm pretty sure she will since it's so adorable to watch them try.
As for the slime on her butt, hard to say what's going on their. It could be that slime is there to make sure she doesn't spend all her time playing with all the pet slimes or it could just be a case of delusions of grandeur and stole the pet shop girl's badge think he was really that important. Either way it's a cute to think about, and also the fact that the girl doesn't seem to notice that her diaper will probably be all blue and gooey if he stands there to long without notice. Just your typical day I'd say in a not so typical pet shop. Of small note, the first in that thank were made up on the spot, I have no idea if they exist in nature or if they're all pretty fantastical but anyone of those species would make a cute pet I'd wager.

Once again all praise to the grand Owlcan in the sky. I've been itching to finish this drawing for a looooong time. ^^
