Yeah, I've been meaning to do this song for quite some time, and now was an excellent time.
There did not exist a backing track for this anywhere I know of, so I attempted to create something close using Guitar Pro 6 (nylon guitar), Noteworthy Composer (warm pad, and music box), and a dreamscape-like sound effect. The mixing was a bear, deciding which to emphasize where, to give it an inconsistent but flowing and changing feel.
Original song by Barenaked Ladies.

This song has always fascinated me from the first time I heard it. The singer asks a very good question. Most of us dream of things we have experienced, but when a newborn dreams, with almost no experience, what do they dream?
And I love the references to past lives, and the soft spot being where the thoughts go in and out.

I've heard this song so many times..
Didn't think I'd -ever- get an alternative version of a song like this. Took a double-take just on reading it was real. Thank you for sharing this.. its very awesome. I certainly hadn't thought someone could tackle Stephen Page's smooth vocals on this song with the timbre of your voice.. and do what I'm hearing.
Fantastic work! ^.^
