No, they are not.
All the old folks always told us the story containing the reason as to how elephants aren't scared of mice in our childhood.
They're scared of colony of fire ants instead. Research has also been done regarding that with the same results.
By the way, I'm from Indonesian too, the same country that "Suwit" originates from. It's scary here how the old folk tales are all proven true by science.

Ehh. Some are, some aren't. Because out here in the US? The folk tale is the mice one, not ants; I'd never even heard of that one before today. Or how about that old folk tale that scientists say bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly? Scientists have known how bumblebees can fly for nearly a century.
Sometimes myths are right, and sometimes they're even right for the right reasons. But sometimes they're wrong, too. Try to avoid seeing a pattern where there isn't one!

Well, this old, traditional game is from Indonesia, so it's not far-fetched if I say that it's based on the folk tales originated from Indonesia also, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But, good talk. I know that the myths are just that; myths. Things that aren't based on science. There are bound to be false myths.
Even so, I still believe a colony of fire ants can kill an elephant. At least that makes sense to me..
I forgot that elephants have bad vision, though, and that's the reason as to why they freak out upon seeing fast-moving little things like mice. Thanks for the reminder!

Popular legend, has little to do with facts. Elephants *can* be afraid of mice--but not because they're mice. They have relatively poor eyesight, and live in a part of the world where poisonous snakes and other quick-moving predators are a danger. It doesn't have to be a mouse--even a cat or dog can spook an elephant if it darts in and out of vision very quickly, especially if it's close to the elephant's feet.
