USTREAM - Plum WIP
The second USTREAM drawing that I did. Once again, it was lots of fun and I'm really happy that the program worked MUCH better this time than it did before! I could actually see what people were saying in real time!
Anyway, this is one of the "Sweet Stuff" girls (formerly Cats in Heat). Tentatively, I've been calling her Plum She's not finished, though. The lines need cleaning and she needs some shadows and highlights, but, she's coming along ;p I hope you like her

<--- blushes Thanks so much!! *huggles and snuggles* Maybe next time I'll draw something just for fun so I can color it, too. The resolution was too high for it to allow me to color this one. But, I need the res to be higher so that when it's printed, the art looks crisp
*nodnods and smiles*
Yes, I may not be an artist, but I did some coloring work in my time, and I know what you mean. I hope you will get that memory thing sorted out so you can run both the Ustream program and Paintshop side by side without much loss of memory, and that you can do a bit more direct linework on a lower res so that you won't be too restricted in what you do... well, on camera, by lack of a better expression =~.^=

^_^ Well, I'm actually using Photoshop which eats up a bit more memory than Paintshop Plus, the internet has to be running, too, so that's three programs that need to operate simultaneously in order for everything to happen As for the resolution, there's no real way around that. Something that has a dpi of 300 is simply going to print much better than something set at 150. 300 is about the norm for a quality print. 150...well...it's passable, but not as good
Hee, I see, yes. I suppose the best solution would be to upgrade your computer's memory, though I suppose that might only be a temporary answer to the problems that're occurring when you have a number of programs working that all require a good chunk of memory. I mean, even Windows alone... this crappy computer I have now runs on 1024Mb RAM, and it's even slower than my old computer with only 512Mb was, hee.
*giggles*
And I would suggest working in 150dpi and lateron upgrading it to 300dpi for a good print, but I'm supposing a suggestion like that would all too clearly show my ignorance on drawing art =~.^=

You know, when I bought the computer I actually powered it up pretty good The memory is more than double what it was at the factory and so is the RAM, so considering all that, it's not so bad. What I think it comes down to is the fact that it's a live broadcast and for it to go worldwide, there must be some sort of lag. Beyond that, Ustream is a free service, so I definitely cannot complain! Ah, but as for working in 150 and then boosting it to 300...that's a no go The lines that I would have worked to clean up would be fuzzy and blurred when the scale was increased. You kinda have to start out at 300. What you CAN do is go from 300 to 150 ....but, that would be the opposite of what we wanted to do! Still a good suggestion, though
*giggles and nodnods in understanding*
Ah yes, that is indeed a very good point; worldwide transmit has a little lagtime, that's to be expected. And of course, we should already be grateful there even are these kind of services, regardless of lagtime =~.^=
Hee, and yes, I kind of thought it would be pretty impossible to make a good upgrade from low to high dpi, because it would kind of stretch out the lines, right? Like when you'd paint a stripe on a sheet of rubber and then pull it to the sides =~.^= Ah well, but you can still do the basics on Ustream for us to watch, and then fine-tune it later to get the nice and clean results; it's the best of both worlds! =^_^=

Yes, exactly!
And maybe next time I'll just draw for the heck of it...or...maybe I'll draw a badge or something since the image itself would be very small (this one was actually 10 inches x 10 inches) but, a badge only needs to be like...3 inches by 4 inches...or so...hmm...should probably ask what size a badge should be...
*ahem*
Anyway, yeah, next time I'll either do the same sort of thing, or do something where I won't need to have such a high resolution

Yes, that sounds like a cool idea! I remember SugarCat did things like that; some main work like coloring an already drawn image, and then near the end doing some just-for-fun sketches =^_^= And badges sound good, I think 3×4 inches is about the right size. Hee hee, of course, I have one that's larger than that, but that's because my fursona, even in small feral form, is quite large =~.^=
*giggles*
Ah, and in any way, there's plenty of time to decide on what you might do on a next Ustream. Either way it will be wonderful to talk with you and watch you work, no matter what you draw! =^_^=

She turned out lovely! Love to pose too, kind of reminds me of the kittyflame thing I did, only then from the other side. I don't think I could have pulled that off! To bad you couldn't finish it. I always love the coloring/shading phase too :)
Much shorter broadcast then last time, I was really hoping I could see the last part of it. But I'm really happy I was there fore the time that I was! *hugs* Thank you!
Hopefully next time I can attend the whole broadcast (if there will be one? maybe? someday? pretty please? )

Oh, you know, I hadn't noticed that! It's just the way the pose turned out And yeah, next time, maybe I'll just draw for fun so the resolution won't have to be so high. That will let me fool around with things without having to worry about such a severe delay in response time ....and there WILL be a next time!! *glomps* Thanks, Honey!
*giggles* Thanks! I believe it was VelvetKittie who helped me with the color selection for this particular one. I use a laptop at home with an LCD screen. It's very lovely a thing, but also very bright, so I couldn't accurately get the color that I wanted here. He was gracious enough to help me out
