New baby I just got! A Rose hair tarantula. I've not named her yet though. She's very calm and quiet. Doesn't seem interested in even kicking hairs.

all spiders are, but some are more dangerous than others. This kind is so docile, the hairs are more of a concern than the bite. The guy at the reptile show had one of these on his arm as he was trading money around.

Ok, thanks.. I only ask because I have a RPG character who I decided.. she keeps Bugs, she likes bugs more than people.. I felt Roaches, Spiders.. the like would be good..

as a defense, the can kick off urticating hairs on their rumps to cause all sorts of problems. Itching, rash, and eye and mucus membrane irritation. Can't exactly pet her ;p

Oh! Aren't Rose Hairs the ones with the VERY gentle dispositions?

You know it's funny, spiders scare me, yet Tarantulas don't bother me all that much

Yes, and I've only had her half a day and she's so calm! She didn't mind me moving her or messing with her at all. I read they're called the pet rock of spiders ;p
