Went fishing yesterday, and found this little guy swimming on past us infront of us as we sat on the dock waiting for a nibble. Couldn't resist, and asked dad to scoop up the cute little fella. (I can't swim that well, and dad can reach further then me...I was scared of falling in.)
We set him on dad's watch for a size comparisson as to just how tiny he was. Just tooo cute. Only about an inch in length, a little snappng turtle. Luckily he figured we were too big to fit his tiny mouth on, so didn't so much as offer to nibble.
Taken with my Nikon L18.
I love animals of all shapes and sizes, so I was quite eager to hold the little fella. My dad let my sister hold him first, but he just sat there curled up in his shell. However, when he was handed to me, he decided to try and walk around in my palms. Those little claws tickle. :giggle:

Cute little guy, but he's not a snapper so you don't have to worry about losing a finger if you meet him again 20 years from now.
My turtle knowledge is a little rusty, but I think one is actually a Painted Turtle (Definitely not a Cooter or Pond Slider, although they are all from the same branch)
