This was my Sega Genesis when i got it from a swapmeet at Brownsville TX in $10 USD back in 2014, i used this to experiment the S-video mod and how wonderfull this console wasn't capable of such a high quallity video connector after the mod it got just a toubleshoot flaw in the video chip attached to the motherboard.
So my advice i strongly not mod your Genesis model 1 to s-video, it may break your unit and please if you have one still play it with the pesky composite video or save to afford for an RGB to component converter.

I have my Genesis model 2 & 3 modded to s-video a couple of years ago, so ill be prepairing a comparison side by side between the composite yellow video cable versus the s-video mod, although my Genesis they look like a newborn baby with a lumbrical belly button, because it was a hard time figure out how to attach the female connector.
