No, that was not my intention at all. The fandom includes an awesomely wide range of diversity, but no matter how each of us identifies or what background we come from, we can all relate to the shared experience of being furry. I would certainly agree that "coming out" as furry to others is nowhere even close to coming out or being gay or trans. I hope that cleared things up.
