Sketchbook entry: Wolffire
Sketchbook commission for Wolffire I did on this year's MMC.
Oh well, since it's a bit more than just a normal sketch, I thought I'd upload it in my normal gallery. It took me quite some time to finish this one, but it was a lot of fun to do as well.
I'm thinking about doing a similar piece in the near future, because I really do like the expression of this one. The reason why he's dancing is a sad one, even though I don't know anything else about it - but maybe you do?
Sorry for the crappy scan - as you can see all the light parts of the drawing are almost gone. :/ I hope you like it anyways, so please enjoy!
(Medium: pencil)
Edit: I finally got a better scan! I hope you like it even more now. :)

Thank you very much! :) I spent a lot of time drawing this one, so I'm really glad if someone pays attention to all the detail (even though you can only see half of it - thanks to the crappy scan).
I added the runes to the rocks because ... well, I don't know. I guess just because I felt like it's the right thing to do.
And thank you again! So much praise, I'm already blushing. *blushes*

Of course, you really are a fabulous artist!!! The emotions in your art can really be "felt"! It is a shame about the scanner tho... sadly it seems that no matter what the scanner is, it'll eat whatever you plan to scan... almost EVERYONE that I can remember reading their comments... if it was a traditional piece and they had to scan it, its almost a sad, depressing guarantee... but don't let it get ya down, even tho us, the viewers still can't view it in all its glory, its still enjoyable!!! and thank you for sharing!!! *hugs*
Aww, thank you! It makes me really happy that you think about me that way! :)
I love to create pieces that have a deeper meaning, even though those are the most time consuming ones. Oh well, not all scanners are that bad, but since I had to relay on Wolffire for the scan, I can hardly do anything about it ... The scan would have been a tad better if I would have been able to scan it myself.
But heh, as you already said: Almost everyone complains about their scanners. Traditional artwork simply is to be seen in real life first and not on a screen. :)
And I love to share my works with other people, because knowing that I might touch them with my artwork or that I might be able to make them happy by just looking at a picture, I feel really happy as well. *hugs*

Thank you very much! :) Well, I tried really hard to let him seem like he's moving so put in some details like the hair that follows his movement, the hair on his pole that moves as well because he swings it, his tail, his loincloth and I tried to even pay attention to his necklaces. I'm glad that it worked out in the end. Because if he was just standing there, he might look like was about to fall or something like that. ^^;
*giggles* Actually yes... If you remove all the flowing bits you mentioned, and disregard his posed left hand (which lends to the idea of someone in a ritualistic dance), it really could look like he'd just jumped from one of the rocks behind him and was failing on his landing :) But yup, you /do/ have all those bits, so it works really brilliantly! :)
